Bad-ass Super Contributer!
![]() |
The cradle is home designed. I think those are the standard DA metric stand offs, if there is such a thing, I'm not sure of the exact length, but I needed to add washer under the motor mount lugs to raise it for that fit. The spinner came from Krill and is 3.5".

Yep, the 2.5" standoffs and regular washers under them will give a perfect fit with a DA50 on this one.
Heres mine pictured yesterday, and what comes to the flight performance -- no need for bs, it is perfect.

Nice Olli
I see the white stuff hasn't left you either ![]() Got any picture of the inside? Been wondering if I need to put the main batteries up front like they mention in the manual or if I can keep them closer to the CG. |

Here ya go!
I have two flightpower 2s 2100mAh lipos mounted to the side of the motor box. I am using the KS1060 pipe so all the batteries needed to go to the front. The CG is right at the tube now and I am pretty happy with that. Ever so slight amount of down elevator needed for inverted flight and inverted 45 degree upline goes hands off for a very long time before curving slightly towards the ground. |

Very nice pictures... Not to step on any toes... but I just finished assembling a red one. I've done a build thread on my another RC forum, but if anyone wants to see just the pictures, I have an album documenting the steps. I figure more pictures can't hurt.
Mine has recently had everything stripped out of it, and is gone for some airbrush work. I'll post pictures when that comes back in a week or two. ![]() http://picasaweb.google.ca/tom.hastie/Krill50ccKatana Last edited by tommy321; 03-25-2008 at 10:56 AM. |

Thanks for the compliment! Your build isn't too shabby yourself.
The thread I did was on the local RC forum for the Ottawa area. The link is here: http://www.calmdays.com/showthread.php?t=958 (since most of my pictures are externally linked I don't think you have to be a member to view the thread.) Cheers! Tom |

are you using both 2s lipos for the Rx? or is one for the ignition? What are you using to regulate them to 6 (I assume?) volts? Thanks, Tom |

Hi tommy,
both of the lipos are for the RX. I have one 4.8V 1350mAh NiMH for the ignition. I'm currently thinking of changing that for some bigger capacity pack though.. I have used the Powerbox Sensor to regulate and switch the lipos for the receiver, great little package imho. ![]() -Olli- |

You sure got yourself a sexy thing there Sverrir,,, when do I get to meet her in person?
Did Krill provide a template for this nice angled installation of the DA-50? MTW seem to only have a german version of their site, After what little I can understanad from their site, they will happily consider making custom headers. |

Thanks Björn. You'll hopefully meet her in May the latest but it really depends on when I get the Weatronic. I'll probably go up north when that happens to collect her. Didn't fancy checking her in on the domestic flight yesterday
![]() No template from Krill, it might be on the CD they talk about but it didn't come with my kit. It was inspired by the photographs on Krill's website manual. MTW get top marks!

You guys - THANKS for posting all those great build shots!
I'm blown away at how nice this plane is. I'm over all concerns about the DA5R with an ES Tuned Pipe pullin' her around too. YOU ALL SOLD a Katana. ![]() I'm calling Phillip this pm to get the down n'dirty low-down on getting one for my hangar!
