Very Nice wingbags... the way they look like the aircraft scheme, make sure you remember to remove them before you go flying!

The ones I got came from RCArmour, made by Jim Cyr (RollingHarrier on FlyingGiants). They arrived last Friday. Unfortunately, since my Krill is still being airbrushed, I haven't test fitted them yet. I, however, do happen to know that he has a set of Red Krill 50cc wingbags in stock.

Although, before you get the wingbags, I guess you first have to convince Skyline to send you an aircraft.

So when is the maiden flight Selleri? Have you weighed the aircraft yet?

I'll try to remember that... maybe I should get RBF tags to put on them... just in case

Well if the Weatronic get here shortly and I can get some time off work I'm hoping to be able to test fly it later this month. I've not weighted the aircraft yet but I'll get some numbers when I've finished it.

Tobben as they ship to Iceland I'm sure Sweden won't be much of a problem

The price depends on the size of your model and what you buy. Don't forget to tell him that you are a member here, that gives you 10% discount on the wing bags and one custom embroidery for free.

Yes she is still up north, I'm planing on going there to finish her when the Weatronic arrives and the weather will allow me to test fly it... might delay it though as Steinþór has to collect and test fly his so we might make it a road trip up north for a double test flight.

OK.. I did get a couple of calls back from Skyline, he gave me a decent quote on the plane. I was looking for the wiite with red stripes.. in stock. Now, all I have to do is find a business to ship it to... I'll probably order one on Thursday.

Tom's Birthday came early. Bill K. from BKDesigns.net delivered my airbrushed Krill Katana.

And before I started installing the guts back into it, I had to snap a few pictures.

I'll give you a couple of guesses who my favourite super hero growing up was.

Closeup of the top wing:

I absolutely love the mesh pattern he did if you look up close.

You can see more closeups on my Picasa Album:

Now I gotta get everything installed and risk flying this beauty!

Holy beGeezers Tommy man, that is soooooo custom!
You should have a helmet head done in that garb! Ought to look purdy close to Spidy when you get through with him!
Let's see red helmet -Red & Blue torso!??

Thats our 33%er in the 87" w.s. SD Models EXTRA 260 w/ low profile servo mounted in torso for head articulation with rudder!
(Beaker's got to sit this one out!)

Hi fellow Katana flyers!

I was wondering of doing the stabilizer attachment in some more secure way and this is what I came up with:

- Cut a 96mm long piece of 3mm threaded rod and drilled 3mm holes to the fuselage where the screws used to be.

-Installed the rod through the holes and glued it from the inside with epoxy resin and micro balloons.

-Secured the stabilizers to the fuse with nylocs instead of the wooden screws.

It is a easy and fast modification which solves the problem of tightening the wooden screws all the time.

Here are some photos of my assembly.

Nice

I mounted some blindnuts on mine as I had the same reservations about the wood screw method.

I also used blind nuts on the stab.

I've spent some time installing the guts, programming servos, and zip-tying the details.

I think Spidey is almost ready for the maiden. Tonight I did a check of the CG, and I'm slightly aft of suggested... Suggested CG is on the spar. I'm just at the aft edge of the spar (~0.5" aft of the center of the spar).

Does anyone have a feel for how sensitive the airframe is to CG location? I did some experimenting, and I'd have to move alot of stuff forward to get the CG centered right on the spar. Thoughts?

Here's a couple shots of how she sits right now.
