I thought some of you might like to see some updated photos of my Bucker Jungmann project (full scale) I have been spending the last couple months doing sheet metal work. All of the shiny stuff is new. I hope to start the fabric work this summer sometime. But who knows, life may change those plans!
Top Gun flyer and builder Gary Alan is building two 1/3 scale Jungmanss now based on my plane. Te will be powered by DA-80's and have scale working langing gear. If you have ever seen his Jungmeister model at Top Gun, you understand how nice his new Jungmanns will be. More later. |

Matt,
Looking good. How long will the fabric work take? Why is the Cap wingless in your avatar?

the fabric work will take the better part of a year. Pretty slow and painstaking work, but kind of like Monokote, you have to take your time to do it right.
THe wing was off the CAP this winter, along with the tail and stuff to finish the paint job we started last year when I landed Embry-Riddel as a sponsor. The splats are all gone from the tail and the bottom of the plane is now all paint. The engine parts never showed up. UPS never followed up on the claim or looked any further for them even though we know where they were lost and where they were sent after. Very frustrating, but this is life. I had some very good people in the Bucker community send me stuff they had and I have just about replaced all of what was lost. |

Mine is the inline version. The Jungmann. All Jungmanns are inline. The round engine was the Jungmeister. This was a smaller plane all over.
Also, the Jungmann was a two seat plane and the Junmeister a single seater. Both are awsome airplanes and the grandfather of modern day aerobatic airplane design. It's a very slow process these days. If truth be told, if a good offer came across the table, I miht even sell the darn thing! Ah yes, but time will tell. matt-c |

I have a buddy who's Hirth 'let him down', lost the Jungmann but walked away. The second one has a Lycon O-360.
I always liked that airplane, so many fine details. Leather gap seals, offset hinges, flying wires,,ect, ect. Please post pics of some of the really cool stuff Mr.C. |

Thanks for the clarification Matt. I hope you stay with it and complete it. I cant imagine when you find the time to work on it and keep your schedule. Has to be a labor of love. It will definately be worth it though....Gene

Earle,
Please give Chaz my best. My God, he's only 12 or so in my mind and he's a DAD!!! I'm working with the Forth Worth Alliance show now to get in. ERAU has a big World Wide campus there and we are working detail to get in. I hope it works out. I'll keep plugging away at the Jungmann. Once finished, I want you to come up and give me some dual in it! In fact, when finished, all of us old farts are going to Maytown to compete in Sportsman in it. Goulian, Mancuso, Ryan....we're all going to use my plane. Just like when Danial Webster schooll would show up for sportsman with 10 pilots for one plane, pre-flight before each of them would fly, then 15 minutes to climb!! Thats going to be our payback. You should consider joining in the fun! The keys will be yours! good hearing from you! |
