Which of the two Extra 260's would you buy if you had a choice? I'm looking at the Aeroworks Extra 260 QB (100cc) or the Hangar 9 Extra 260 engine choice would be the new revised DA-100. I'm not starting a brand war here either guys, just want some advice and why. Both planes are about the same price.

This is a tough one, because booth planes are very nice. I own an AW 100cc 260 and really enjoy flying it. It is a great all around plane. I have flown the H9 260 and it is also a great flying model. If your primary orientation is IMAC with some light 3-D then I would give the nod to the H9. It is stretched a little more than the AW, and I have found that it tracks, and generally does precision a little better. However, my experience is that the AW is a better built model, and seems to hold up better. I have seen a number of the H9 fail while flying, another one this last weekend. Especially if your primary focus is freestyle, or equally mixed between 3D and precision I would go with the Aeroworks.
Hope you find this useful. |

I will not be using the plane for 3D, I'm just a typical Saturday flyer, nothing fancy not yet anyway. I own two Aeroworks QB planes now, a 50cc and a 75cc Yak. The quality is second to none and they fly nice also.

They both fly great. I would go with the Aeroworks because of the quality and finishing of the airplane. The plane's literally done out of the box except the rudder. I think you have to glue the canopy on the H9. The CD manual on the Aeroworks is as good a manual as you'll ever going to find (even though most of us don't use the manuals on these planes)
My vote is Aeroworks. I had the 35% 260 and it's an awesome performer.

I have the Hanger 9 and love it. I went for the Hanger 9 due to customer service.

Aeroworks, in agreement with Vic - goes together quicker and better overall construction and finish...

Did you know that the Extra 260 and the EXtra 300 are basically the same plane? The primary difference is the 300 has a longer canopy, that's about it.
The 300L and 300S are different, they are low wing planes, but the 300 is a mid wing just like a 260. Maybe tis will open up your view a little. TF |

Hey what the hell, go buy a Yak!!! Couldn't help my self.
I guess they'll fly as good as you trim them, for me this is the key. I have seen the AW and it is a good performer. What I have read here about the H9 260 it that it also a good performer but have some bugs (construction, problems with crak cowlings, phenolics being to tight) that they have to work out. So why dont you buy the one that is more atractive to you, and then spend time triming the airplane right for your type of flying. Regards

I like the way the h9 extra looks, but aeroworks flys better for me, I got one, and is awesome, well if you can put the h9 scheme on the AW would be exelent.
