I am saying it is extremely complete... and just a hoot to fly! I have left my ZN-Line and Super Extra at home the past two weekends to fly this plane! It does not fly as smooth and precise as my ZN-Line... but it is more fun in many ways.. it is just so nimble and throws around great!

I dragged the rudder with this plane for two reasons... the plane is maneuverable enuff to do it, and if I messed up, A new Prop, Canopy, Cowl and rudder... and away I go!!!

Oh Yeah.... the ZN-Line KIT from DA is $2400.00, my SX from Comp-Arf is $3000, the GP Extra from LHS or tower hobbies is $1000.00.... That there is a pretty compelling reason to fly one of these!

Really.. Tygon Tubing, Zip Ties and Foam pad for the Rx... That is all you need!!! Everything else is included. (Well... OK.. CA and Epoxy too I guess)
Well, this really is exciting news. I have been looking for a plane that flies like this and is priced right as you know. You directed me here from "suround a da 150 thread". I was going to go ZN Line and was cringing at the cash I was going to have to drop because the build itself would have to be done from kit right? (above my building ability at this price level to screw up) So that would be a cost for a master builder to do. (i never even covered a plane )
So a nice easy clean "put together"; right up my alley

Man, I am for sure buying one of these. You cant beat the price for almost a 40%.

My question is how if flies compared to a mid wing Extra? I would think you would need a lot of mix for knife edge stuff, but I am new to these big birds. I have only flown a 33% Yak. How would it compare?

Nice build Mike( Mithrandir) Went together great and quick.

The CS-170s are basically Hitecs. I think the supplied arms are also karbonite like Hitecs. There are a lot of people using those arms successfully, even in 40% birds.

Nice thread for sure. Please keep us in the loop on the CS-170 servo performance.
Thanks,

I do not know how much it weighs!!

But.. it does not fly heavy.. it is not a tippy rock!.. Mine needed about 8% elev mix to rudder... both ways. Over on the other site, there is a bit of Video of mine and Mark's flying... in the "Member Videos" titled Fresno 2008

My ZN-Line is about 37 1/2 pounds.. this plane has a little better vertical speed up..

My reflexes are too slow to handle a heavy, high speed ill handling plane!! This plane flies really nicely. I will try to get video... but this weekend I am at RCX in Pomona and the following weekend I will be in Dayton.

The plane reminds me of a Muscle Car!

Mith, just lie about what it weighs like most everyone else. Makes you feel better and makes everyone else wonder what is wrong with their plane, even though it flies fine at the weight they have.

See! Now don't you feel better. Now lets see how long it takes for someone to quote this weight on a another site.

Ronald McDonald looked like he flew pretty light. I don't think we need to call Jenny Craig. Keep working on those reflexes.

I guess the weight really doesn't matter unless you look at the size of this plane and are considering buying one as I have thought about. Considering this is basically the same size as an Extreme Flight Yak and the Yak is 10 lb's lighter. The Extra is 110x103 with 2279 sq's. The Yak is 110x102.5 with 2170 sq's. Im sure the 100 extra sq's handle the extra 10 lb's just fine. Buzz
ps: tower spec's,

Anyone who compares a yak to an extra should be grounded. Two totally different aerobatic platforms. Wing loading will not prevent your from purchasing the plane if you have the skill.
