Default TOLEDO: 2.4 Goodness from JR

This is the all new JR 12x, both hybrid 72/2.4, and native 2.4. Awesome radios, and will be availaible for delivery in the next 30-60 days. 2.4 is all over the place out here, the Horizon 2.4 area in their booth is packed tight with modelers in transition, and both experienced with this technology. Good stuff. Jeff Holsinger is the hottie holding these puppies!

Max,
In the pictures there appears to be two different 2.4 modules..... One with a short antenna affixed to the 2.4 module and one without an antenna affixed to a 2.4 module. Since this is a hybrid that is able to do both, where does the "regular 72 mhz" antenna go? Can you get a picture of that?
BTW: Is this is a taste of the Toledo coverage we are in for this weekend? GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!

There are two versions of the radio. One is dedicated to 2.4G only. The other can do both. The one that can do both, uses a 2.4 Module with the antenna coming out the back of the module to eliminate the coax cable to the top of the radio. When running 72, the antenna would go into the normal spot with the 72 module plugged in.

The dedicated (2.4 only) radio routs the wire internally to a fixed antenna position in the "normal" position.

For those that want a new radio in this class and do not want to fully transision, you get the one that will do both. For those that want to go 2.4 only, you can get that style.

Can you remove just the antenna from the "hybrid" 2.4 module and leave the module in place? Just wondering, as it might be difficult to fit into a case otherwise...

Thanks for the info Jim. Sounds like JR has all bases covered for those who want to "sit the fence" and those who want to "take the plunge!"

Hiya Max,

Thanks for posting the stuff for us homebound modelers.

Have you happened to see a list of the programming featurs of this radio yet? With it being a month out, I would think there would be a list of features starting to surface by now.

Thanks

See you at the Nall!

Hmm....

Should I say it?

I know Max posted that the 12X's would be 30 to 60 days out and Horizon is still showing mid May with Donald's still showing May 10th.

I had to call Horizon about something else the other day so I asked if the 12X's were on schedule while she was checking on my other question. The CS rep told me the 12X's had been pushed back two weeks as of the other day...

She also said no manual on the website until the radio is released.

I guess it's like most new RC stuff and won't make it's original anticipated release date, and we won't know a lot about it until we can get our grubby little hands on one....

30-60 days from the time of the post would be the end of May on the long side. My calander says that May 10 is inside that window.......

Yea, I guess getting hands on one will be the answer. I wonder if they will let us lease one for a year so we can check it out to be sure it does what we want......yea right.

I wonder if the 50mhz module from my 9303 will fit the 12x MV. I tried to get an answer from HH , got on a callback list, but missed the call.

Looks like the same size, but you never know .......

IIRC, the modules must be 12X specific since there are a number of differences in the wiring to accomodate the extra features found in the 2.4 system, there are more pins to deal with and the older modules won't fit.

I can't remember where I saw that question asked an answered but I think it was over on RCU from Danny before he quit answering questions on the JR/Spektrum support forum.
