Default Lanier Giant Stinger-Anyone ever turn the one piece wing into a 2 piece wing

I am looking at getting the Lanier Giant Stinger.
Has anyone ever made the one piece wing into a 2 piece wing?

So no one has ever taken an ARF and changed it to there like?
i.e. Making a 1 piece wing into a 2 piece wing to make it easier to transport.

I noticed it's been a while since your post appeared, but
turning Giant Stinger wing 85" in to 2-piece?

How did that go for you? -- any issues and/or success? Tips?
I'm working on one now and was thinking the same thing...

I have a friend of mine that has one with a two piece wing but he built it from a kit not an ARF. Basically he used a wing jig and drilled a hole large enough for a wing tube through the first 6 or 8 ribs on each wing half, then purchased a wing tube with a phenilic sleeve and fitted that into each wing half. He secured the wing together using a bolt through the bottom of the wing and a hard point for the bolt. He used a second smaller tube near the trailing edge of the wing. All he does when he gets to the flying field is slide the two wings together, secures the bolts and then secures the now one piece wing to the fuselage. This is an easy wing to do as the all of the ribs are the same shape so drilling them identically is very easy to do!.
