If you want a great plane the Dietrich flies like a 35% plane but tumbles and rolls like a 120 size plane, I get to fly a lot of different planes and the Dietrich is the most stable hands down. There are a lot of choices out there and I have the opportunity to fly all of them, I seem to like the way the Dietrich's fly in all sizes.

i have not owned a dietrich. but i do have experience with the EF planes! they are just built so well! we have the 88" yak and it presents like a 100cc plane. a good friend of mine has the 88"extra 300 and the yak and actually says he likes the extra better. i didn't think that was possible. mr hinson has done such a great job on all of his planes and he is a tremendous supporter of our atl huckfest! go for the EF!

Disadvantages of Dietrich IMO: 1. No tuned pipe tunnel 2. Smaller plane for IMAC (78" Length to 87" for EF Extra) (get's bounced around more) Dietrich Extra 260: $595.00 Extreme Flight Extra 300: $645.00 Fly both before making a final choice if possible. Always fair, always recognize both as superb choices. Cheers. - Parker Gilbert RRE Models |

No Comparison, Go with the EF Extra 300. It is the best flying and looking 50cc plane on the planet!

is the EF Extra good enough to possibly get me through basic and possibly sportsman imac classes? Looks like it might be the winning 'entry level' machine.
thanks |

You could fly anything with the EF Extra. Even Unlimeted. It is great for all classes of IMAC and 3D. I have the 58" EF Extra, and it is such a great plane that I would feel comfortable flying it in unlimited as well. All of the EF planes are the best on the market and there quality and flight performance are unmatched by anything on planet earth. There Extras are the best that they make. You can't go wrong with EF!

Let's be realistic about the IMAC stuff. I have the 58" and I often fly the Advanced sequence with it. A good friend of mine often flies the Unlimited sequence with his. The plane is capable of flying both sequences without problems. But to compete successfully, you need to score well. I don't think any 50cc size plane is going to score well against 40% planes. That is just not realistic.
I do know of a talented young man who is flying an electric version of the EF 50cc Extra in the IMAC Sportsman class out here in the South West. He does OK with it, and I believe took third at the last contest. He would do better if the plane were gas powered so he could fly bigger maneuvers. So up through Sportsman the plane would do OK. You'll need bigger in the higher classes, especially if it is windy. |

I haven't flown the dietrich, but I have the EF and it is great. Solid in a harrier and no coupling. I thought the EF 88" yak was awesome before I got he extra. Just my 2cents.
