OK, with only a couple weeks left for planning i feel it necessary to get the hype going as big and bad as possible for the ohio huckfest! i think it is safe to say that each one of the hucktacular's this year has been better than ever!!!!! the flying is amazing and the hospitality is even better than the flying! i only know corky (our next host) a little bit but i can assure all FG'ers that the hospitality scale will again be tipped!

i would like to call on all of the FG members who have had the chance to fly at this venue in the past to jump on here and talk about the facilities, the hosts and the fun they have had here in the past. that WILL absolutely attract even more fliers!

i'm told that we are all to "COME EARLY AND LEAVE LATE!" to this one and i can't wait to do just that!

let's get the typing going and the thread full of attendance promises and let's get the 2nd half of our huckfest season started off with an unforgettable bang!!

I called in my weather order, so we should be set.

Honestly if you live within a 10 hour radius of the field, you have NO excuse not to come, 14 hour away , and you can get away with showing up on Friday!

Matt, corn pull, bean pull, it doesn't matter, last year I virtually had no competition, probably the same for this year, I am not worried, I might even keep the trophy at home, why bother bring it and take it back.

For those of you who haven't been to Thistledown Field before, check out the Thistledown Photo Galleries on our club web site. There you'll find pictures from our last few September fly-ins. You'll see some familar faces and airplanes!

Below are some bonus photos.

Here's an aerial view showing the basic layout of the field. Note the stadium lights we use for night flying.


If we're landing to the south, here's what your plane will see as it comes in over the soybeans -- 700 feet of neatly mowed grass. Corky keeps the field in nice shape.


In this picture, we're behind the flight line looking northeast. This year, Thistledown Field is surrounded by soybeans -- about 3 feet high -- so the winner of the "bean pull" will be gettin' down REAL low.
