I volunteer to chop wood for the bonfires. . . . .

I'll even bring my 20" chainsaw .. it runs on the same stuff I use in the planes

Anyone have a hockey mask I can borrow. . . . . . . .

I'm really in a quandry here. . I have room in the van for up to 3 planes . .I have 3 40% planes and two 82-92" "Frenzies" I want to bring. . The trailer kills gas mileage. . . (and it's ***** too. . . . ) But, it has a reinforced roof and ladder to the top, for chairs and people to stand on, so it's a great photo/video platform as well as "Crazed fliers looking down on their planes" vantage point.

Do I travel light, or come loaded for bear?

This is a really loaded question to ask a bunch of strangers who aren't buying your gas!

What the heck... bring all ya got!

Well. .only if you promise not to laugh at the trailer. .

Gas price is not a problem. It's a tank of gas each way, no matter how I slice it. I get 300-325/tank unladen, and 225-240/tank with the trailer. Either way I have to fill up the tank. Needless to say . .one-ton Dodge vans are not fuel misers. 14-15 mpg empty, and 11 loaded, is the norm, at 65 mph. It's about 220 miles from work to the field in Atlanta. One tank trip.

Besides. . bringing the trailer will let me bring more wood working tools. . perhaps my large double bladed axe, the bow saw, and the loping shear will come in handy as well. .

Still need to find a hockey mask, though.

Sounds like a plan! I don't know if you've been following the gas shortage and prices down this way, but it does seem to be getting better now. For the last couple of weeks, it's been the 1970's all over again... waiting in line for hours to buy gas for $4.50 a gallon!!! Just this Monday, I drove around for an hour and couldn't find gas... I went back out about 11 PM, with only 28 more miles worth of gas in the tank, found a station and waited for over an hour ... $125 later, I was good to go.

Our gas is still about $4 a gallon, and you can probably only find regular (no premium).. but its supposed to continue to get better and cheaper for the next few weeks.

BTW.. I'm coming up to Charlotte on Monday morning... meeting with a customer in Mooresville, then heading back down on Tuesday.
