I agree with you Mike..I probably will not bring anything to fly...maybe an electric plane, but these events are nuts..and its fun to hang around and shoot the breeze. After all, you and I have mastered that.

I walked out the door this morning, to get my cat, and there was the box from Extreme Flight. . soaked with rain from being outside the entire night. Luckily, only the outer packing box was soaked, the inner box had done it's job of protecting my Outlaw. 4 hours later, I was begging for an engine to bolt onto it, and figuring out the lighting scheme for best illumination for the Huckfest night time activities.
has anyone run one of the new OS .35ax engines yet? I have a Macs pipe setup coming for it. . Very light engine for a .35, and it ought to make the little bugger scream across the ink black night sky . . . The "Blue Angels" scheme ought to be very pretty at night, especially on low-low rates and doing pattern maneuvers down low.

A few years ago, at Joe Nall, some of the Graupner jet guys put a Kangroo (I think that's what it was) in the air at night. It had a grand total of THREE dim lights on it. . one on each wing tip and one on the nose. There they were, blasting around at 125+ Mph, 3-5 feet off the deck, with this literally invisible plane, guided only by 3 little lights. It was spectacular to watch. After that the AMA said NO to Night Flying with turbine planes, or planes that could exceed 100 mph . . sooo. . get a radar gun. . I'll be holding it down to "only 99 mph". . . ![]() Of course I'm going to do it. . you had doubts? Geesh, young man. . you really don't know me very well. . . . . . ![]() I'm hoping Robert V and some of the Team Outlaw crew will join me in the night sky. Be kind of fun to have an Outlaw Gaggle fly-by at 11:00 in the evening. . 10-12 Outlaws in the air, at night, would be really cool. I'll have a bunch of extra SUPER Bright LED's on hand if anyone wants to make a night flyer setup for their planes. Hmm. . anyone for night time pylon racing??? The LED's I have are rated at 145,000 MCD brightness, and will light up an Outlaw like it was daylight. Use two per side on the fin, and skeg, and two on each wingtip (on a tall mount, one facing inward, the other forward) and you add about 2 ounces to the plane. Your "Normal" LED's are about 10,000 MCD rated, so these are almost 15 times stronger. Yuri used something similar on his Extra at Joe Nall this year. .the plane was extremely well lit up. This will be no different. I also have some wide-angle 50,000 MCD LED's that would work very well in this application. And BIG SKUNK. . you will be REQURED to take a few laps . . . . let's see how your adrenaline glands are working. . .
