I will be ordering this plane today to go with my Skyshark P-40. I have a Brillelli 46GT I will be installing which is very simular in design to your Thor 45. I am very interest in seeing how you install you engine.
Can you order the H9 P-47 retracts from horizon hobbies. I am looking into Century Jet retrcts, but they are $295.00

Jim,
Do you think the Hanger 9 P-47 gear can hold up to a greass field? Our field is a little ruff in spots and I hope the Hanger 9 P-47 gear can handle the grass. It is a lot cheaper than the Century Jet gear for this plane. What servo's are you planning on using for the Hanger 9 gear?

I got these from a friend that crashed his P-47.
He gave me the set from his plane, WITH JR servos and a complete NEW set of retracts, struts and wheels...... ALL for $100.00. So I am really keeping this on the cheap ! Our club has a grass field and it is well manicured. We have several members that fly the H-9 P-47 and I don't think anyone has had a problem so far. My buddy has a DA-50 in his... no problem ! I will post pics of the process of fitting these gear as soon as possible. Jim |

I found the Hanger 9 P-47 landing gear on Horizon's web page. The gear is only $80.00. So I guess all I will need after the gear from Horizon is the servo's and wheels. The gear looks complete. Jim, will you be adding a servo mount in each wing for each gear? I would like to see how you did it once you have them installed. Thanks

The servo mounts right to the retract housing.

This is great news on how the servo's mount. It looks like I'll order these from Horizon hobby.
What JR servo's are you using?

I'm not sure right this minute, but I think my new set came with wheels on the axels/struts.

I just ordered this CMP 80" Zero from RCOnly and talked to Barry there. He seems like a very nice guy. I am going to be getting the Century Jet retracts with the Zero because RCOnly can give me a better deal than if I order them from Century Jet.
The CMP Zero was not listed on his web page, but someone on another thread told me he had them in stock so I e-mailed him and the deal was set from there. I cannot wait to get started. My P-40 will be done this week and I will than start on the Zero![]() Here is RCOnly's web site if anyone is interested. http://www.rconlysite.com/ |

Well I am still waiting for my zero and retracts to get here. There has been some problems with shipping. I talked to Barry today and I hope everything is OK know.
Jim, how is the building coming on the zero?. Have you done the maiden flight yet? I would love to see some more pic's of the plane and retracts if you have them installed now.
