3D ?... I'm getting there...

The Futaba 12 FG recently came to Sweden and I bought it about a month ago together with the FASST module and the 14-ch FASST receiver.
I installed it in a 50cc Yak54 and it worked very well for about ten flights or so. I then replaced the 14-ch receiver with a 7-ch (607). It worked ok for 2 flights then the F/S started to kick in now and then. The first two times I setup the F/S to kill the engine and I had two engine cuts but got control back instantly and could land safely. I then changed so the F/S only idled the engine and tried again with the same result, the engine went into idle a few times for no reason at all and almost killed the plane. Range check was ok and at least one of the times the distance was less than 75m when it happened. I was about to maiden my C-ARF Extra 2,6m today with the 14-ch FASST receiver but I quickly changed my mind when I came to the field... A clubmate had the 2,4GHz module installed in his Futaba FF9 with a 7ch receiver in a Great Planes Yak with a DA50 and it has worked ok for over a month and many flights. Today he came with his new radio, yes the 12FG and 14ch receiver. First flight ok, second flight went into F/S, killed the engine and loss of control, resulting in a crasch... Since it worked ok with the 7ch-module in the FF9 we suspect that there is a problem with the 12FG. Anyone experienced the same issues with the 12FG? |

I've had the 12FG adn four 6014 receivers for about a month. No problems, except for when was configuring my biplane that used 5955 servos and Y-cables... luckily, that problem surfaced while on the ground. Removing the Y-cable and running decicated lines resolved that problem.
Do you run single or multiple batteries and voltage regulators into the receiver? I've always used dual batteries & regulators. |

Around 50 flights total here with 12fg on 2.4ghz with 14channel, 6 channel, and 7 channel receivers. Absolutely no hint of a problem.
Is your flying area near any radar or microwave installations? Later; D.W. |

Go into the menu and set the plane up for Fasst 7 channel ( like you would you change from PPM to PCM ). You will see FASST Multi and FASST 7.....on the smaller channel receivers ( under 12 channel ) you are to use the FASST 7. That should solve your problem.

Of course if it did happen always with the same transceiver I would send that one in too. My T12FG 2.4 Ghz works without problems as does the T6 2.4 Ghz. Frank |

Did you loose control of everything or just the throttle? I see that your redundant, but just a throttle failsafe indicates a power related issue.. If you lost control of all surfaces then either the whole spektrum frequency range was blocked, unlikely?, or there's an issue with the trans or receiver. I'd probably look to the receiver first as was mentioned earlier in a post.. |

could it be an installation issue? carbon fiber fuse? aluminum covering? bad servo? bad servo extention? many things can cause a glitch, got a pic of the install? maybe we can help more, the fasst link is the most bullet poof of them all

My clubmate didn't have any control though, no elevator so it went in pretty bad. |

Below also the install on my C-ARF Extra 2,6m, what do you think? Some more info. Today I did 6 flights with no issues. Changed the F/S to just HOLD and no problem at all. Then I changed the F/S to low throttle and did one more flight - no problem there either... What about the transmitter antenna, is the orientation critical? Before I had it point straight up but I read in a post that it should be pointed towards the ground, so I had it like that today. |
