Ok, I am pretty sure that I have it figured out. I dont think that you can run the ar 7000 sats with the 921. This is what my dad and I just dicovered. When the grey is plugged in to either side that side on the flight logger reads 770 fades right away. It also wont count fades and stays at 770 fades even if I force a lockout. But it I also noticed that the ar7000 wont start up with out the sat and when its plugged in it does. So I dont think that these sats are compatible with the 921. Can anyone tell me where I can buy the red 921 sats because I am not going to maided with just one sat. I am sure now that I have it figured out. As you said the system has to have one sat plugged in to start??? Correct???

I thought all the sats were the same.
Read carefully. Did you initially bind the RX with just the red remote? If so, did you add the grey one after the initial binding? Do not use the word bind the same as the word link. They are two seperate operations. If you did not rebind the assembly after adding the second remote, it is not bound to that model. Try rebinding and see if your problem goes away.

you have to bind with both sat receivers installed, and i just bought a stabdard sat receiver and plugged it in to my 921 and it works fine.

As you have seen, if you remove one satellite after the system has linked up, the system still works. This is also a good failsafe feature. Your system is working properly. For that remote rx at the bottom, just move it off to the side about 3" (to the opposite side of the fuse of your other satellite) to get it away from the carbon. If you could move it back about a foot as well, that would be even better. 770 fades on a "by the manual" extended range check is a no-go. When you do it, make sure that whoever is moving your plane around does not get between you and the plane - people attenuate 2.4 ghz signals... |

![]() Two thoughts and one has already been mentioned, that being you have to bind the setup with both satellites installed or it won't recognize the second satellite. Second thought, depending on the age of your AR7000 satellite there could be some issues with it and playing with the R921. There was a guy over on RCU who fought this thing for some time until he sent in the satellites for an update. Then there is the issue of the Quick Connect firmware update. All the rx's including the satellites need to have the same firmware. I don't think there is an issue with the data logger specifically, but it was not available when the early AR7000's were released so it is entirely possible that is part of the problem. Now everyone at JR/Spektrum says you can fly with one satellite rx and I guess some folks do it without issues. Me? I want 'em both; working and good numbers from the data logger before I fly... |

Well now that I binded the 921 with the grey sat I can start the system up with just one of the either sats plugged in. The flight logger also does not read 770 fades right off the bat now. So everything looks good. I will just do all my testing over again today. Btw is could someone tell me what the advanced range check is for this. Is it 30 paces away and some one spinning your plane in circles with the engine on for a minute??? I went 50 paces and did this check and everything was good.

The data logger works on the AR7000 that was manufactured since December I think. From the Horizon Hobby web page: "(AR7000) Receiver is compatible with models that have "BATT/DATA" indicated on the label"
