According to my Carden 40% CAP instruction manual you should start out with the CG 1" in front of the wing tube measured at the Root. This is 4-1/2" measured from the leading edge at the tip.

On mine, we have it right on the wing tube.
Just a tad pressure needed during inverted. Harriers by it self... for the most part. I really like the cap. Nice plane!

Set mine at 5" , Recommended by the man Himself.
The CG is perfect for just about anything and lands nice. Dave |

Thanks for the replies ! Mine is right at 5", I think I'll try their first. One other question, does the CG position have any thing to do with the dreaded "Snap" ?

A 3D rate use all you can get, but just don't bury the elevator going at any kind of speed. I couldn't believe how little ele input it took to fly precision, it looks like its hardly moving.

The "cap snap" is a legend. I'm pretty sure it came from the fact that most of the old caps back in the day were overweight monsters with too little wing and as such really had a bad problem snapping, but all of the well designed new caps I've flown have no bad tenancies to snap at all.
