Having trouble guys...
Got a Futaba 9CAP that I haven't picked up in over 5 months and need to mix dual elevator servos on an AR7000 with a 9CAP with a DSM2 Module...anyone know how? My brain is fried to begin with. LOL...

![]() There's a guy who posts here on FG called Flyfalcons IIRC, and he claims to have a mix that works with trim following and cuts down on the latency. Try a search or two and see if you can find it, or maybe he'll chime in here? I personally am unaware of a mix that will do what you want and still be able to simultaneously trim the two servos. Sorry 'bout that... |

Well the like I said, there is supposed to be a way to mix #2 & #5 which is what the 9Z used and get it to work. But the problem is getting the trim to work. Now I fought the lag issue with the 9C Super to the point where I got a 9Z WCII to eliminate the problem.
IIRC, Bax over on RCU has indicated that getting the trim following is the issue, but that other member here and on RCU (and pardon me if I got the username wrong) claims to have a mix that works on the 9C. I've not really followed it as I don't own any Futaba radios anymore, but he has listed a step by step procedure for it in several places.... |

Great, I'll check it out. Thank you very very much! BTW, what lag issue are you talking about?

Well I don't want to start another cat fight over Futaba vs. everbody else like we see so often....
I will say that due to the way the tx handles and transmits stick commands to the rx, that being sequentially, there is a noticeable lag between the operation of the second elevator servo compared to the primary. This can also produce some difficulties in precisely matching the centers and end points, and having them match in mid travel. Futaba wouldn't admit there was anything wrong with this system, but when you look at the stuff they're posting about the 10C, it specifically mentions dual processors and "faster data handling". Bax has finally said it over on RCU in talking about the new radio, that "the 10C will eliminate the dual servo lag problem with the 9C". |

Now that you mention it, I've noticed it in other airplanes that I've had, but always triggered it to differences that could be in the servo motors. For me, it's not that much of an issue, because rarely do I find the need to jam on the elevator...I do however think that a new radio is in my near future...my 9CAP is almost 6 years old now. Still a fantastic radio, but I might get a 10C and give the 9C to a local kid at the field or something.
