35% Carden edge 540 "TANK"
Alright Guys, I need some info, help or advice, I have recently aquired a carden 35% edge 540 that was nicknamed TANK. This plane was built several, several years ago and was flown around the NC area by the likes of some very good imac pilots, like Mark "Mcfueler "Mclelland, Jimmy Ritch, Adam Ranck, etc... It was nicknamed the TANK because the one of the wings folded up in flight and during the retrieval process the plane was discovered in tact, in the top of a pine tree, Mcfueler built up a new set of wings and it's been alive since. It also has seen a fence post and maybe some other action that I'm not aware of. This plane is currently flyable in its current state, but, I would like to restore this plane to badass condition. It's had alot of internal repairs and is really starting to show its age. After reading alot of the carden build posts i have discovered some ways to lighten the fuse and still keep the structural integrity of a carden. What should a 35% carden weigh bare bones, no electronics, or anything at all? Does anyone have any covering ideas or schemes that might do this bird justice???? All and any ideas will be appreciated, and I know that I could build a whole new plane easier than repairing this one, but I can't let this one die. I will post pics later, thanks Coleman
