There will be plenty of room for camping this year as we have opened a new camping area. Hope you have a safe trip and enjoy yourself.

Yes, on Wednesday you will be able to find a spot.
No, you won't have electric at your camp site unless you bring a generator.
Not sure where the crew will be camping yet this year, with the new 2.4 / 3D area, we might be camping close to that area.

What to know, be prepared to have fun and hang out with friends old and new. I have been twice and it reminds me of a family reunion, you get to catch up with people you haven't seen for a while and meet new members of the family.

There are nice shower facilities on site.
Make sure you get your Bar-B-Que tickets early, you don't want to miss it.
There is a vendor on site that sells ice.
There food vendors on site.
Bring some extra cash for vendor row ( I never have enough for the all the new toys I want to buy.) Don't forget sunscreen, and insect repellent.
Bring a hat.
Print out your waiver and have it signed when you get to the gate, it makes it quicker.
Grilling is permitted, bring a small charcoal or propane grill, the store is just a few miles down the road. NO FIREWORKS!!
Flying starts just after sunrise and goes on well into the night with lighted planes.
Golf carts are available but need to be rented in advance, see the Joe Nall site for information.
Bring your camera!!
If you don't have your AMA or IMAA membership you can sign up on site.
Safety is job one!!
Be noise conscience. There are no actual noise restrictions, however don't rip props or you will be warned about it.

I'm sure I'm missing some things but this is a good start. The main thing is to relax, and enjoy the nicest flying site in the USA and one of the nicest in the world.

I'll help ya out here. Yes, you should be able to find plenty of spots to camp. You probably wont find any right close to the flight line but any spot is a good spot. You will not have any electricity so bring plenty of batteries for your flash lights and a big deep cycle to charge your airplane batteries. We will be right along the last ridge, first spot probably, on the left side of the hill as you drive down. Camp Jack Ass was around the lake to the right, right under Pats hanger but I think it is going to switch to the 2nd flight line, I could be wrong though. The lake has some nice spots if you can find a good one down there. Other than that bring plenty of planes, fuel and your walking shoes. You will find everybody probably scattered all around the grounds. It will be interesting to see where everyone will be. Previous years we were all around the flight line and you could see and find everyone. This year will probably be a different story. But none the less, you will have a ball and probably see more than you thought. Oh and Virgin Nallers are broken in at the main flight line with Biff every morning right after the National Anthem. Good luck.

Thanks for the info.
I am AMA, but don't fly giant scale and I am not member of the IMAA.
I fly Electric only and my biggest plane is 55"!
I guess I will be a happy spectator.
Do they alllow "free flying" in the off hours? (2.4)
If not, I don't care, I just want to hang out!
Got my BBQ reservation sent with my campsite reservation.
How far to a town, grocery, ATM etc.?

As far as dollars go...everyone knows that cash spent on at the flightline vendors is a "black" budget item that does not appear on the ledgers. I have been saving my pennies!

You have to be a registered pilot to fly at any time. The town of Woodruff is about 4 miles from the field. There are ATM's in town also.

dpoles........ When the action gets going... you'll have to decide which foot to use to kick yourself for not bringing a plane.
This is my third Nall. First year I had the shakes I wanted to fly so much and I just happened to be there solely by God's grace!! Last year I took one plane, this year I plan to take two (80"). Maybe I'll lend you one :-)

IMAA is only $20.00 and you get it in the mail. At least take something to scratch your itch when it turns on because this event is the Big Daddy of them all and every flyer WILL get the itch!

KASEY9, I am coming as an international visitor (from Trinidad & Tobago). Can I bring our flag to be flown at the pavilion this time?

I will be camping in a small tent, living out of my pickup.

It is not time away from work, It is time away from family! With 2 small kids I cannot in good concience take a whole week of "solo" time.

It is always a balance of family/job/flying in that order!
