Default Balanced Elevators

Just buttoning up my 2.6m compy 300sx. Like my last compy they ask you too add weight to the elevator counterbalances. I must admit I have never done this on any kit in my life. 1 Giles and 4 Extras later and I have never had a problem. Am I playing Russian Roulette or should I fix all my Extras to be safe? I am not lazy just weight concious.

Default Re: Balanced Elevators

What your doing is dynamically balancing your elevators, its the way its done on full-scale airplanes. I did it on my comp 2.6, it does save where-and -tear on the elv. servos, also flutter issues at higher speeds. That being said I have never had any problems in past/present airplanes. I'm assuming it has a lot to do with how powerful the servos are today.

Good luck
