Well I got my Yak done, but really would like some input on the control throws. Were are you guy's setting the high rates. Should it be all I can get.. I setup the throws per the book. But not sure what every one else with this planes doing. Also how much expo do you guys use on 3D rates? Any help is appreciated. I have only tied a few high alpha manuvers because of windy conditions and a new motor. CG is a little in front of the wing tube with wings off of it.
My Planes setup. DL50 with 22B Vess Prop Hitec 5955 Servos 1.5" Arms

Brian,
cool! I didnt know you had a 30% yak, thats awesome! Kyle cross and I had just finished his TOC 30% yak... We set his up on 2 rates, one with the ailerons and elevator at around 35 degrees with about 15 to 20% expo, Rudder at around 40 degrees, with 25% expo. High rates we went all out Full throw on all surfaces, but it really couldstand to be toned down a bit. I would probably go with about 40 degrees of throw on ailerons and elevator, but as far as she'll go on the rudder. Can never have too much rudder! ![]() Is it ready to fly? when are you taking it out? we need to go fly soon! |

Hey Jared, I maiden it Sunday. Flew a couple of more times this week. All ready went through a gallon of gas. She has great power with the DL50.. But to be honest my 3D skills are RUSTY.. Plus the wind. So havn't tried much. Hoping to get the throws good. I tried some harriers and it seemed OK, but the wind was blowing me all over. Also took over 6oz out of the nose and flew much better. Maybe next week we can get out to Buder.. Or maybe try out my field.
