I listen to alotta stuff. If it has a good beat, meaningful lyrics, etc., I'll listen to it. I'm a little iffy on the "extreme" side of music, tho (super-heavy metal and hardcore rap, etc.) Nickelback, Linkin Park, T-Pain, The Eagles, hell, I'll listen to talk radio. If I find the artist annoying, then I won't listen...

I'm terrible with names, so I forget a lot of bands, but yea, I'm pretty diverse with my music selection.

All 80's new wave all the time. Don't bother me with the glam crap. Depeche, Smiths, all that jive.

Having played in many bands over the years I have listened to alot of music but cant seem to get into much of the newer music over the past decade so I tend to listen to bands that have had "Staying Power" such as Rush, Aerosmith and stuff like that. Mostly classic rock with the exception of Dream Theater which I have gotten into about five or so years ago.
My "opinion" is that most of what has come about since the 80's is all "Manufactured" first in the boardroom then the studio so I dont listen to it.....
I do notice that alot of the younger generation knows about and listens to the same stuff I do. They even know the words!

I'd almost make a bet that nobody here has as diverse a collection of music as me... and I'd CERTAINLY make a bet that they wouldn't be listening to it on a regular basis

Hint: Everything between NDW, Tiffany, Enya, Black 47, and much, much more

The only stuff I stay away from is whatever sounds like cattle getting strangled (are you listnening, 50%plane?)
