I am a keen Sukhoi fan. This will be my fourth Sukhoi. Mike Briggs asked to use my Su31M mold but at 88" this model is not big enough for the DA 100 he wanted to use. I need a IMAC model and the 2.5 meter model seems to be fairly standard around here so here goes with a Sukhoi 29KS. It will be 2.6meters span which is 31.6% scale.

Here are the earlier Sukhoi models I have done. The 29 is a 2meter model and the 26 and 31 are 88".

I am going to stretch it 10% and raise the wing and lower the stab. I use Autocad for design. Here is the final drawing.

I wanted a separate hatch for the pipes. This drawing shows how the model comes apart.

I can't print out a full size drawing so I do one with all the measurements and then draw onto the wood directly. I am using 4.5mm MDF and foam.

I didn't make it clear but this will be a fibreglass fuselage foam wing model. Here the keel for the fuselage pattern has been cut out and the tailpost glued on.

Making one half of the fuselage box. This will keep everything straight and symetrical.

Both sides of the fuselage box done and the firewall on. This 4.5mm MDF is great to work with.

Thats nearly it for the wood construction. You can see I am providing clearance in the firewall for the Rear carb motors ie DA85. This will also help to clear DA100 headers.

Here is the first foam on the fuselage. I am using a hand held hot wire bow and templates made from the same MDF as the fuse to cut the foam.

Here you can see various foam cutting templates. On the model for cutting the hatch area and in the fore ground for the turtle deck and some ali straight line templates. She is starting to look like an aeroplane now.
