Default 3D plane for OS 160

OK, I need to get off the pot and make a decision. Need an aerobatic and 3D capable plane for the OS 160. Now considering the Wild Hare 73" Edge, Chip Hyde Tunnel Vision, Ultra RC 29% Giles 202. Let's have a vote and you guys help me decide. Write in candidates will be considered.

#1 has to be the UltraRC Giles. It has the largest surface area / weight for a scale plane

Heard the Tunnel Vision is a blast to fly and the Edge also, but my vote would be the Showtime 4D. Now that plane is a blast to fly.

Would the OS 160 be too much for the Showtime 4D?

Not if you are careful with the throttle. Temptation has one in his and it flies awesome. There is no problem balancing it with the rudder servo in the tail. I have a Saito 150 on mine.

That said, it is overpowered with the 160, there's no doubt. But I like my planes that way

O.k. I do have a 1.60 in my Showtime. It is overpowered, and good throttle management is a must. I am not sure the Showtime is your best bet for this engine. It's what I had laying around, so I used it. I does fly great, but a tad heavy. When installing the equipment, you will need to keep everything as far back as possible. Rudder and two elevator servos need to be installed in the tail. I used a Slimline inverted pitts muffler for mine, and it runs great. With the 1.60 you end up with about a 3/8" gap between the cowl and the spinner backplate. Because of this I choose not to run a spinner on mine. I just use a prop nut. I did have to put a couple of ounces of lead in the tail to get it to balance. I just hid it in the stabs. The root ribs on the stabs are open, so it's very easy to hide the weight in there.

Your motor is lighter than mine, isn't it? I don't think mine flies heavy at all.

While I agree with the Showtime may not be the best choice for your motor, it's the best one that I have flown, that's why I mentioned it. I should have clarified that part.

I guess it shows there are no "cut and dry" answers in this hobby. I will have to check out the Showtime. Leaning toward the Tunnel Vision right now.

I had one on a Lanier Edge 1.20!!!!! but if I were going to do it again i would go for the WH Edge 73'' it shold be more then what you need for power and if you add an APC 18x6W Prop that's the best combo !!!!
I have flown the WH Edge 73'' and it's very easy to fly i would say like a Funtana 90!!!
My vote goes to the WG Edge!!!!
