Help! Im finally going to finish the thing (speacewalker 8 foot)

Well after having it 2/3rds finished and hanging from my garage roof for 10 years (I got married and had kids before i had a chance to finish it)

ive finally pulled the 8 foot wingspan spacewalker off the roof and begun to figure out whats left to do

i spent two hours getting an aileron ready today (covered it with that plastic stuff and the iron) and its now stuck on the wing assembly
prolly spend another 2 hrs getting the other one covered and stuck on

its been so long since i ironed a wing i stuffed it up a few times and had to redo it

mount, carby linkage kit, b and b exhaust and zenoah kill switch are ordered and in the mail
i have the zenoah g38 mounted to the bench and im hanging to finally start it after 10 years of it hanging from the roof (never been started) ((any issues with a motor thats been dormant for 10 years ?)

so after playing with helis for a little while its time to put them aside and get the spacewalker going

3 helis all in working order and parked in the hanger
1 foamie
1 f15 turbine foamie (rtf kit)
and one soon to be finished 8 foot wingspan spacewalker

any suggestions of servos that should be used on a plane that big ?

Welcome to the giants man.

Firstly be sure 10yrs of being uncovered no nasties have had a go at it. (water, insects etc)
Hitec 5645MG's have served me well for about 170 flights so far and are reasonably cheap.
Motor should be ok once you get fuel up to it (may take a while as the valves in the carby will have hardened)
If it fires up & runs ok you should be right. Worst case is a kit though the carby provided the rest of the motor has had some lube in it from the factor.

Hope this helps

Jamie

How many servos per control surface? With that info I'm sure we can point you in the right direction.

well this is where it has hung for 10 years
it doesnt look much different at the moment except for the one aileron that i spent 6 hrs hinging and covering, im sure it wouldnt take most builders that long
it did however take me that long and i was happy with the finished and attached aileron
