Default WHAT IS EVERYONE DOING WITH THERE FM EQUIPMENT???? SELL, HOLD ON, SUGGESTIONS???

Hey guys and gals I was just wondering what everyone is doing with there FM equipment? Is it even worth trying to sell. Is everyone using them for smaller aircraft?(foamies, smaller planes?) I am on the fence on selling it, but I just looked through the swap shop and I have not seen a whole lot of buyers on the FM stuff!! Any suggestions??? Also, I to have already gone to 2.4! I have been using my 7202 for my foamies!! Just curious what some others are doing???

I'm holding onto my 9C for the time as it's a great radio. I'll probably have it serviced and give it away eventually.... At this time, I do like having the option of a good 72 radio, even though I've had nothing but trouble on 72 since I moved to NC.

I say Hold on to it. There is going to be some kid that is just getting into RC and can't afford much. You could be his hero and give him a good deal on it. That is what I would do.

I still fly all my stuff on FM. But I'll tell you, I had a hard time getting anything decent for my 9303H in brand new condition. I sold it about a year, and a half ago for like $295.00 shipped.

Yea, there's no market for a good 72 radio anymore... 9C's are going for $125 and 9303's are going for $200, not to mention the 10X's are going for $300 and 9Z's for $250.

Less then half of standard retail for a top quality radio.

DoubleA" Freddy? Ouch!
Ya, I had it listed in at least four forums, on display at a local hobby shop, and had a flyer at one of my AMA fields. I started at $375 then dropped it to $350 then, $325. Nothing! I thought I had it sold for $325, but the guy ended up backing out giving me some BS excuse after I took it off the sale list for two week to hold for him. It was a Brand new radio with the box and all the paper work. I would of kept it, but I have my 10X. At least I got something back. as for my 10X, I love it, and have only had it four years. I couldn't imagine selling it for $300.00

I am still using mine. And why wouldnt i. I have never lost a plane because of 72Mhz FM interference. Granted i fly Futaba. I am just one of thousands that dont have problems with FM stuff. If you think about it, if we didnt have 2.4, everyone would still be using FM 72Mhz. And if most people can make it work than, the radio technology isnt the problem?????? There is nothing wrong with it either. Its just not as shiny special new hottest lasted and greatest. But, Im not trying to keep up with the jones's, so i figure i'll wait until there is a really good reason to throw lots of money away changing over to somthing that doesnt make the plane fly any better. Like if it was free. BTW i still pay good money for Futaba FM PCM synthesized RX's. Especially if there as worthless as everyone says.

Just to make for sure it is known I value my FM equipment but my radio is starting to give me alittle trouble!! Some of the models are not coming up in the transmitter!! For some reason it has locked out my 11 and 12 planes!! I am concerned that this radio may have to be replaced! That is the reason I started this thread. I have 7 or 8 good quality receivers and I was wondering if they would bring anything!! I like the ease of not having to worry about frequency with the 2.4. But, I also don't want to use just one radio for all planes. Especially getting out in a parking lot and flying foamies and such!!

What's wrong with one radio having all the model memory?

well my take on it is i will try and get rid of it. i dont see it comming back into play so might as well get what i can and go from there. there are still guys at the field that are using old conquest radios and trying to get them to at least change to computor radios is something else. as was stated in another thread we rc guys are the cheapest people in the world. i will try and list it and see what happens. never know.

I sold all my 72 stuff... 14mz and 12fg. I switched to a 9303 2.4 and preordered the 12x.

Chief Aircraft is selling the 9303 72mhz version for about $270 tc only, so it seems even they are trying to dump some of their inventory.
