Just make sure your wheel pants have plenty of room around the wheels. Those foam wheels flatten/widen out pretty quick and will destroy the pants in short order...

What are you planning on using for an ignition kill?

A 20x8 seems small for a 50cc, but I have no experience with the XYZ so I don't know what it will pull. The rest looks fine. If you haven't bought the servos yet, switch to the 625's or even the digital equivelent. The 645's are not all that fast.

Throttle kill only, no external device.

I bought the plane second hand, new but already built and quipped, it has 645mg's already installed. I'm no 3D flier so I'm sure they'll be fine?

They have good torque, but the servos are a little slow for my taste. Mine have also developed a bit of slop. It should be fine...but not ideal for your application.

I had a great planes Cap 232 with a brillelli 46gt and 20 x 10 prop and it was awesome. I ran out of gas while doing a flat spin and could not build up enough airspeed to recover. The plane had unlimited vertical and flew great. The only issue I had with the Cap was that it had a lot of cross coupling with the controls. Knife edge required a lot a up elevator and I could never really execute it cleanly. I have noticed this condition with another low wing aerobatic plane I own (a staudacher). I suppose I could mix in a little elevator but I actually like to fly my airplanes and you get a better feel for plane without all of those mixes. Well anyway, I put the brillelli in a GP Sukhoi and that plane flies even better. No coupling, very stable, great tracking and it only required one or two clicks of aileron to fly straight. Too bad brillielli is out of business. His engines run great and were very inexpensive and I have to say that the 46gt has almost as much power as my DA 50. The difference very minimal. By the way, I use futaba 3305's all around and have had no problems.

I went to pick up my Cap232 today. I bought it second hand, it's built but not flown.
The seller has installed a Zenoah G45 engine , whaddayathink?

I'll try to run the engine tomorrow and hopefully I'll maiden the plane next week, just need a dual battery set-up (for some sort of redundancy) andfinally some programing of the radio.

That cap looks good. I have heard all of the cap myths about snapping but have never personally experienced it. If you look at the GP Cap the horizontal stabilizer is a little lower on the fuse than other manufacturers. That design feature may help with reducing any snapping tendancies associated with cap's. I let a guy at my flying field fly it and he almost crashed it trying to do a cuban 8. I think he pulled to much elevator and it snapped but I think that may have been pilot error. You can make almost any airplane snap if you pull too hard and too fast on the elevator.

Thank you, I will run my JR X9303 + AR7000 receiver on 2,4ghz. Also I plan to hook up dual Nimhs via dual heavy duty switches to feed the RX.
Engine need no juice as it's magneto ignition... Hope to maiden her on Wednesday. I'll get back with pics and maybe video.

ps. I'm only flying sailplanes nowadays, so don't expect any 3D videos from me
In fact this is going to be our tug plane for sclae gliders, LOL

Bah! I've flown this plane every which way you can think of, and I've never had it snap out on me.

Let us know how it fly's with the G45.

The only bitch I have about this plane is the springy landing gear, with a Vess 22B I had a tiny bounce and that was all it took to nick and crack the prop, Am currently switching to 5 inch wheels for more clearance, also using a three bladed prop as I mentioned before.

Am also considering bending some 3/16 alum gear to replace the stock fiberglass gear...

See now, I actually like the gear just the way it is. Its great for harrier landings, with just a little throttle blip to grease them in.

It abosrbs a lot, but admitedly you can run into ground clearence problems with a large diameter prop if you land heavy.

I see your point

I 'm also thinking of putting a 1" woood spacer under the stock gear and try that before going to alum.

It is nice to have some spring in the suspension but if you had seen the way it came it with the prop strike I had it was very gentle.

Sorry to hear about your prop, I hate it when stuff like that happens. The wood spacer is a good idea, in fact my buddy Jeff was going to do the same thing to his.
