Doc,

Glad to hear that Andreas was willing to benefit your friend!!
My dealing with CA/planes plus was less than acceptable...
not that they dont make a very nice plane - just my experience with him.

Prior to the release of the 8611 and 5955 Comp Arf designed their 2.6m and up aircraft around the JR 8411 servo. Link ganged or surface ganged, but ganged just the same.

Even today the 8411 is an excellent servo when used and set up correctly. But still noit cheap.

The big lesson here is that if you intend to go big, forget going cheap or budget class. Failures similar to this type happen all the time when people look for the cheapest way they can to complete a giant scale project. For some, re-using crashed equipemnt is another place that has bit a few butts. Once crashed, it should be sent back, inspected, and repaired/replaced as needed, and not used until that has been done. Painful process but necessary for peace of mine and system safety.

The fact that they didn't know any better did not change the end results. I didn't know the gun was loaded, right?

I find it quite gracious that Andreas has elected to help out a customer, especially when it probably wasn't required. All's well that ends well.

with the weight and the surfaces, you need 3 5955tgs.

thats the setup a friend is flying in his SX for at least over a year know -working well

2 of the hitecs isnt enough for this surface on this plane. -only in lighter planes.

Regards,Chris

I have 225 flights using two FUTABA S9152 servos in mine... and the ARF comes with appropriate aileron servo trays. Two S9156's would be a little better choice though.

Looks like their only designed for 2 servos per aileron..

"This plate is designed to accept a pair
of JR8511/8611 servos"

The manual says that 8411's are fine for pattern flying..

yep, you're not going to get 3 servos in there. 2 300+ oz servos will do the trick.

Important lesson learned about servos, Sorry for your loss. BUT !!! just because you see part of your plane brake off in flight, dont stop trying to fly it !!!! Remember Himpel landed with only one wing.

On the 260 they have an outboard rib to accept a third servo. I would think the Supa would have the same since it is larger.

Very true. I don't know where I heard it but it is not original to me, "Don't stop flying it until the last piece stops moving."

You can definitely fit 3 servos in there in-line if you re-make that phenolic mounting plate and extend the carbon base an inch or two to the left by cutting that little rib on the left.

As if 3 would have been enough...lol! This is equipment choice error, plain and simple.
