Thanks |

Thanks, Jim |

C'mon Mark - you know you want it with a Union Jack! It's not the first custom job they'll have done for you.
You're going to need a bigger workshop. |

Jim,
Here are some pictures from John's build. He used a SWB self adjusting 3 servo tray on the plane, but used the supplied rudder tray supports to install the SWB, it fits down flush with the sides of the stock tray. He also put carbon fiber over the wood and formers that you see in this picture. Also, when using the direct drive be sure and gind a flat spot on the piano wire with an edge for the set screw to catch. On rough fields this will help the wire from being pulled out as the plane bounces up and down. Loctite the wire and the set screw as well. |

Looking real serious at this plane.
How does it perform with DA-150?? On standard exhaust??? I heard something about the canopy having a weak spot or something??? Ronster |

I have seen the DA 150 on pipes and it was pretty good .
IMHO the 170 is more what this air frame needs ,the over all weight can be kept pretty low if you keep things simple. My 3.0 came in at around 20kg , it flies at a nice speed and has PLENTY on the up lines . The only thing I am still undecided with is weather its best on two blade or three blade prop . The power is not an issue as the 170 swings either prop but I am starting to notice the larger diam two blade heps with snaps and locking the plane in to a line . Stu

Stu,
Thanks - Have you tried to consecutive snaps on the upline - Wondering if this would be a good IMAC plane vs the Super Extra??? I really like the flag scheme!! Ronster |

two snaps on the upline with a 150 slows a little. the 150 flys great on cans ,but still patiently waiting for the 170 at this time.Wayne Mathews loves the 170 and he is swinging a three blade.

I had a fly of StuD's Yak with the 3W170 in it on the weekend.....WOW!!!! You couldn't ask for more. Did the Advanced sequence with it's eyes closed. Unlimited won't be a problem. I did 2 snaps on the upline to get a feel for it, no troubles. It has even made me think about going to the dark side. cheers A. |
