SLICK 540...new aerobatic plane

Oh, I forgot this. Toledo & The Slick 540 WHAT IS A SLICK 540? The Slick 540 is a brand new design that is a laser derivative hybrid. The full scale airplane is a full composite aircraft. It has a very sleek appearance with a unique set of wheel pants and landing gear cuffs. The aircraft is a cross between an Edge and an Extra. Featuring a mid wing design. It is the best design we have ever seen. It is very competitive in the full scale arena. The SLICK 540 won the 2007 Unlimited South African National championship. dOOd, it is not a cross between an Extra and an Edge. With an all composite construction it is hardly a derivative of a Laser. It may share some simularities between the aformentioned aircraft,,, like comparing a Corvette with a Ford GT.
The Slick is offered with a four cylinder Lycoming AEIO-360 (200hp) or the six cylinder AEIO-540(300hp). |

It's F'in BAD ASS if you ask me. It looks kinda short & stubby, but the overall "slick"ness of it counterbalances that.
I wish they had 3-views of it on their site, and I wish there was a 50cc verison coming out. Jon

I don't find anything appealing in the Slick aircraft. It is an offshoot of the Laser 200, only it is no where near as good looking as Leo's laser 200

The Slick is derived from the Laser and Extra 230. It is built in South Africa and designed by South African Red Bull air race pilot Glen Dell. The entire aircraft is built from composites. There are two options (as above) the Slick 360 with a Lycoming 200hp motor, or the Slick 540 with 300 hp.
