Eagle
I build Kiwi's Pitts about two years ago, searching on the old files I found a pair of pictures of the servo hatch and suport, I hope it help you to get the idea of how we made this work. The hatch is a carbon fiber panel, I think 1/16. to install the servos we use a 1/8 carbon fiber angle, each of this angle is attached to the hatch using two screew with self looking bolt. You have to make a strong support for the hatch on the elevator, to do this we used a 1/2 balsa stick all aroud the perimeter of the hatch area and then we drill some 10 mm holes on the 1/2 balsa and glued solid dowel on it. Any questions, feel free to ask Regards Fernando Viollier |

Eagle,
You absolutely need two servos on these elevators. Even as that is it still gets blow back in a harrier. Those elevators are bigger than your car doors and take some serious swinging plus there is no balance horn on them so its pure grunt thats required. Working on the video tonight and I know after you see it the PITTS will be in the hanger, |

I've seen one fly, I can not tell you who the guy flying it was, I think it was at The DOGG show,on one of the AMA video's, it is one of the planes I am seriously thinking is going to be the next one, If I am going to have a plane with a round fuse, it might as well be a biplane.
Have you had a chance to check out a J&J tail wheel yet, AWESOME piece of hardware, I received mine yestarday, filed all the square edges then wet sanded it then buffed it to a great shine, I think this one will go on aviator 260 and for sure on the next plane I get |

Sorry, I know this isn't one of the options on yur thread, but I want to jump on Smokin and Mithrandir's coat tails here. The Super Extra is the best flying C-ARF plane available - for all regimes, not a question. Ask anyone who ones one.
Eagle 1, LOL at your expression "a dirt nap", Haven't heard that one before. |

I've owned my Super for almost 2 years (a new record for me) which tells you which one
I would choose and I've owned quite a few others. The SX seems to do it all! |

I have only seen one of the extreme composites 260's, but it was not overly equipped, had cans, and was pushing 45 pounds. It flew well enough, but the 170 that was pulling it struggled - too heavy, IMO.
