Default New Extreme Flight Electric Profile Yak-54

I am going to do a quick build thread on this new offering from Extreme Flight...the electric profile Yak... Its a cool plane just out.
The plane is designed around the Torque 2814/820 Brushless motor and the 45 amp Airboss Elite speed control. Recommended servos are the Hi-Tech HS-65's running either Flightpower 4s 2170's or the slightly larger 2500's. I will be using the Flightpower 4s 2170's with an APC 12 x 6E prop on mine.
Two color schemes are available, the "Original" scheme and also the really cool Black and Yellow scheme.
If your into profiles or electrics, this will prove to be a great plane for kicking around after an IMAC contest, or in your local schoolyard after work.

I've been waiting for someone to do a build on these. They look like a lot of fun and I may have to get one someday.

I've got a bit of stick time on this thing. This airplane is really cool with those horizontal fuse pieces! I highly recommend this bird, it is a 3-D beast!

My friends is set up per EF's recommended 3 cell set up and it is pretty tail heavy. I look forward to see how yours turns out. He is considering moving the servos further forward in the fuse.

A buddy snagged one and hopes to solve the CG issue by going with a Neu 1110/3D. Weighs about 1oz more than the Torque set up, should be sick power.

Although the 3 cell will work, Chris told me to use a 4 cell....Perhaps that would solve any CG issues. The servos are light and so is the motor but by using a 4 cell because of the extra weight, it should be fine. Thats the set-up Chris is using on his own plane. we will see. I should start this tomorrow sometime and will post pics as I go along.

Flyone, you put it together just like I wrote in the instructions. There are really no tricks or extra info to throw out there. I will be monitoring to see if you have any questions on here. Feel free to pm or email me at jwilliamsrc@cs.com if needed.

Jeff the manual is very straight forward and easy to understand. One questions though. The bottom Rudder hinge (#3) hits right where the instructions say to cut out the vertical stabilizer for full elevator throw. I assume the cure is to add another hinge below this area?

AMEN brother, preach it.

Mike, I emailed you back. But, just so it is public as the hinge thingy. Make sure that bottom rudder hinge has a good bond.
