Hi All
Thought I would post some pictures of the maiden flight on a 34" wingspan SU 26 that's powered by a Norvel .61 engine. It actually flies really good, but is quick as heck. It was built off of Ziroli plans by my wife's dad (kind of pay back for a frequency mistake that took out an plane of mine years earlier.) The roll rate is insane & at only 23" long, it's very pitch sensitive - so that's the only control surface I don't fly with all available travel. There's not enough thrust to hover, but it will just about knife edge - drops slowly. It's fun pulling that out to fly along with the 102" gasser... and the helicopter.... and the electric foamys... Gotta cover all the bases! Terry |

Very cool little wooden airplane Rappy! Nice follow thru launching form too! I've seen Nick Ziroli fly his when he first drew the plan years ago. It was a fast little sucker with a blistering roll rate!

Looks good. I think I've got those plans somewhere from when they were included in an issue of Model airplane news a few years ago. I always wondered how that thing would fly.

Yup - that's where the plans came from. I've got a big box-o-balsa that got it started. The radio install and covering was by me. I really wish I hadn't used red as the base color on the bottom of the wing too. It has white checkers - but it just isn't enough at a distance. The Norvel is about a perfect match for the plane - it zips great! You can get into trouble & back out of it real quick with the plane too.
