Default 2008 Scale Aerobatics NATS

Guys & Gals, the June 23rd deadline is approaching to register for the 2008 Scale Aerobatics NATS. We have room for pilots in all classes, so get your registration in now. If you do not have a registration form, they can be downloaded from the AMA website.

There will be a pilot's meeting at AMA Headquarters Site 3, at 6:00 PM on Sunday, July 6. Flying will begin Monday morning, July 7, at 8:00 AM. After flying concludes Monday, we will have our famous hot dog and hamburger cookout prepared by the Muncie Boy Scout Troop 25. We will begin flying at 8:00 AM Tuesday, July 8 and Wednesday, July 9. Our banquet will be held at the Horizon Center, downtown Muncie, 7:00 PM Wednesday evening, at which time we will announce the pilots who will compete in the finals. Thursday, July 10, 8:00 AM will be the finals, followed by Freestyle and the awards ceremony.

Check out the IMAC website www.mini-iac.com under the "2008 NATS" tab for information and registered pilot list.

Phil, Brendan and I are looking forward to coming back to the NATS again this year, and to see you all again. It was really nice getting to meet a lot of new people last year and to meet you and your wife.

The NATS last year was top notch, thank you and everyone who was involved to make it a contest to remember.

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon.

Phil,

On the IMAC site, it has a place for the list of pilots registered for the Nats. Just wondering when the names would be appearing on there or we gonna have to wait until the Nats?

The registered pilots are on the IMAC site now. The list is current through July 5. I will get an updated list Friday and will post any new pilots.

On the form it says Juniors are for free...What age groups are considered "Juniors" because I am 14. Also, My dad is coming along with me so does he need to pay too just to get in to the field?? If so what category would he be in?? Sr basic registration or open basic registration?

Thanks,

Neil

I didnt see this before

Mechanic Fee $10.00

Mechanic: A participant in competition as a non-flying helper must be registered as a mechanic.
Only contestants and mechanics will be permitted beyond the spectator area.
A registered contestant is automatically a mechanic.
Mechanics are not required in Free Flight, Soaring or Electric events.

Phil, what is this about a Mechanic and a mechanic fee of $10.00 dollars ?

So I take my son to the NATS and if I myself am not registered and dont pay this 10 dollar fee I wont be able to go beyond the spectator line to be his caller ?

I called and registered him over the phone and nothing was mentioned of this additional fee. I dont recall there being a charge for someone having a caller/mechanic last year.

I dont understand either as to the additional charge for a mechanic fee and there not being the same charge for the other events as it says... Mechanics are not required in Free Flight, Soaring or Electric events.

If a competitor goes in one of these other classes and has a caller or someone to help them, why are they exempt to this charge we have to pay ?

I'm only coming to the Nats if Danny has the AC and the Lazy Boy in the Trailer!!

That saved my life last year!

Were renting an RV and the whole family is coming!!
I'm not sure when we are going to get there... but I'll look for a spot...

I'm curious about the mechanics fee as well...as my wife and son will be with me...
where can/can't they go with or without this?

The ten dollar fee has been there as long as i can remember . I n 2005 I paid for my caller. Never really enforced though. Its like the honor system ... AMA not IMAC
