Just to clarify things and rumors don't start, the GP Extra that I was flying was a prototype that had a temporary retro fit on the stabs that the production models DO NOT. The test was only to check a couple things with it and was only supposed to be flown a few flights. So... after hundreds of flight and having forgotten about it, the retro fit failed. As Jeff stated, I as well as others at the XFC have flown it as hard as we possibly could without any issues. Nuff said!

I think you guys did more than fly them... Nick Maxwell, Jason and yourself beat the poo poo out of those planes... we saw that the production models can stand up to what you guys did to them all weekend long. If fact, I think you guys should be ashamed of yourselves.

I would like to extend my thanks as well to everybody who helped out at the XFC. The committee gets wrapped up in the daily "chaos" that's involved in putting on an event like this, and gratitude and thanks are sometimes overlooked when you're trying to keep everything running smoothly. A special thanks goes out to our flight line bosses, Rick Barch and Blaine Miller as well as all our airplane judges... Will and Marian Berninger, Jim Taylor, Stacy Lloyd, Dave Brown and George Hicks.
The commitment that the judges had this year to making sure that the contest was fair and unbiased was unbelievable. To hear them discussing the rules and making sure they were all up to speed and on the same page was a real tribute to their dedication.

Darrell "Big D" Bell and Bob "the mouth of the south" Sadler.... well what can I say. It's really nice to have these guys at your disposal, and it makes it easier to keep things rolling. You turn them loose, and let them do what they do. To listen to their "genuine" excitement on Saturdays Night Fly was contagious. Not to mention that I've not hear that many people yelling and cheering at an RC event ever!!! Thanks to all the guys that participated in the night fly as well as the team competition, and I can't wait till next year to see what everybody brings to the table. Terry and Yuri... you guys have sure have raised the bar!!!!

Again, thanks to all the support staff that helped out and to everybody that came and enjoyed the weekend with us. We'll be happy to meet you there next year and do it again, if you want.

Frank

All the people involved did a great job but as much as everyone deserves a hand, Frank deserves a great big one as he ran around constantly to stay on top of things including the weather.
Great job to all that participated....

Frank can certainly organize an event. The whole XFC staff was amazing.

The amount of flying that is put into 3 days is intense, and yet even with adverse weather on Friday, the whole show remained on schedule.

Nice job guys.

I have finally got the 1500+ photos downloaded from the camera. I'm starting to go through them and these jumped out as ones that fit this thread well. Our friend Terry Hahn from team GTO put on a great show, very reminiscent of a full scale air show, full of tumbles and even a limbo complete with ribbon cut.

The look on his face after the flight says it all.

Terry is great, because he is always smiling.
And his whole team is the same. If you hang with these dudes, thee is no way you can be in a bad mood.

I have know Terry for only one year and I have not seen him smile and laugh for this long. He came here to put on a show, and that he did. He flies for the love it and it showed in his routines. I had people come up to me all weekend and ask, "What is he doing next?" I told them only he knows what he will do, his dad (caller) learned last year not to lift his head up and watch!! For those who were there and saw him take off and go into a slow low HA KE down the runway then fly inverted INCHES off the runway then his airplane disappeard down a slope at the end.

He actually meant to do it. Since he was inverted he had to give an up elevator input to get it to follow the terrain. It still almost made me wet my pants.

Terry,

my hats off to you Bro!!!! Even though I was behind the camera and don't get to have the true feel of watching everything you do, the reaction from the crowd kept me in the game. Thanks for letting tag along!!

Go Team Orange!!!!!

I have to admit that I was a little uneasy a time or two because I had never been so close to the helis, but I then remembered that these guys are pro's at what they do and I had nothing to worry about. Incredible show!
