Well an 85 on mufflers with a 3 blade isn't that bad. I was getting 10's for sound all weekend at the contest, which I thought was kind of funny.

Wow! that is impressive. I never did try a 3 blade so maybe that would be the ticket for lower noise.

A couple ounces here, a couple there, it all eventually adds up to pounds. Just like a foamy now a days, save weight without using all the excess stuff.
I built a 102" Yak with a DA 100 on regular mufflers. Didnt do much to save weight. 28 lbs. Built another 102" Yak, with heavier gear, canisters, two rx batteries (the origional only had 1), a larger ignition battery, and it weighed in at 27.5 pounds. With all of the extra heavier stuff I added. Build it with the origional stuff, and you would have had a 26 pound airplane. 2 pounds is a HUGE difference. But again, this is just the way I feel, and what I can tell with a lighter airplane. Seth Arnold

No doubt lighter is better. If the Greeves setup is only 5.25 lbs that sounds like a much better choice than the 1090. I may need to look into that option

I had an AW 75cc Extra 260 with a DA-85 on a MTW 110 can. Plane flew awesome. It suffered from a radio failure at a young age. I got the new AW 85cc Yak and will be running a Greeve's on it since it has a full length tunnel.
I also bought a Dietrich 75cc Extra and it looks very promising!!! It is suppose to build out around 19.5lbs. It sure looks good, covering is awesome. |

Heck, my 35% AW 260 rocks on DA85 and 1090 pipe. Check out the video link in my signature.

My vote is The Aeroworks 35% Extra 260. Mine weighs 24 lbs with a DA-85 on a single Greve pipe. TONS of power. By far the most fun I have ever had with a giant scale airplane!
