Roger,

That turbo prop is going to be bad !!! It looks good in there. Have you decide what to do about a cowl? I just got my set of plans from Jack this week. Keep up the good work.

Keith,
I will carve out a cowl out of foam, when pleased with it, fiberglass it and remove the foam.

Right now I am looking for comparable size Extra 260 canopy to fit my laser..

Enjoy building yours, its a fun build and this airplane is going to be light..

Roger

That thing is going to look sick with the turbo prop on it. Can't wait to see it when its covered.

Are you going to streamline the cowl in a similar manner to full scale turbo props?

Yes I do intend to streamline the cowling , of course it will not be scale

Can you give me a basic idea of what that will look like?

I am not sure yet how it will look like but will not have cheeks as the original has.

I have to wait when the engine is mounted .

Also I will not give the engine some right trust, but rather offset the fin a slight bit ala P-51 Mustang

Roger, I did balsa stringers on my turtle deck. For the top most stringer I used 1/4 inch spruce because that stringer will get the weight when the airplane is upsided down in the cradle. Also I filled in with balsa between the stringers at the first and last bulk head to have a 3/4 inch wide solid serface. Not in the plans just my own design changes. The stringers look good with the Monokote.

Actually Mike, this is a small dish but its not for television. I covered it with a high reflective mylar and use it as a solar concentrator for free energy...

Today so far I have installed the canopy frame, still looking for the canopy itself..

Don't forget when building an airplane from scratch, when you are 80% done, you only have 80% to go....
