A throttle servo issue kept my motor at about ¾ power with no ability to decrease speed so I kept all my flying to the very basic stuff, loops and rolls and straight lines.

For the landing I had to line it up on the runway and then kill the motor from the transmitter.

Jack, it was funny to hear my flying buddies yelling at me to keep the nose down and the speed up, this would have been the perfect advise for a heavy 40% with lots of drag. This just wasn’t the case with the Laser, on a no wind day the plane just did a smoooooth 3 point landing. Now that was fun.

Jack, I have put up a thread here on FG with some pictures. I posted my flight experience here to keep Roger interested in finishing his.

Hurry Roger, the summer is winding down and you guy’s get snow upthere, what in October?
Hi Tony, Where on F.G. did you start your thread? Thanks
Jack

To all the loyal supporters of this thread, I will be out of the country for about a week, so there will not be any reporting or pictures from me for this time away.

I will be back next week and go at it , am fitting the wings at this time with proper alignement and building a wing retainer..

Don't forget what I said sometime ago, when you are 80% you only have 80% to go

But with reports of flight like Tony's, I am looking forward to get this done and fly it.

Roger

OK guys, I'm back from a wonderfull visit with Hayes Hutchins and his wife in Alabama. I got to see his comp arf yak with the wren 54 turbine fly. I have to say I was blown away with the sound and performance of this engine, spinning a 26*12 prop.

Now I'm really looking forward to finish the Laser...

Roger

Sweet! Glad you had some fun! But no, that wasn't the type of trip I thought you had planned. I thought you were going to visit that friend in/near Texas that you had told me about.

Very nice Roger. What glue did you use? Does the screw bottom out on the peg so there is no end load on it? What is the weight of each panel at this stage?

Thanks Rod,
The glue is Polyester Urethane glue under the trademark Gorilla. The dimples in the aluminum is so the glue will expand properly and have some bite to it.

No the screw doesn't bottom out.

As for weight of the panels, I will have to weigh them, I will post these maybe later tonight.

Roger
