A bit of an update,
I decided to follow his recomendation and not use my own design and built fiberglass fuel tank. Although the tank turned out the way I wanted, I'm not sure how clean the inside is to guarantee perfectly clean fuel to the engine even with good filters.

After measuring the inside of the fuse, Dubro has a 50 oz tank that would fit.

I still have a lot to learn about composite fabrication.

Well Roger, better to have embraced the "lesson" (advice) in your shop, than on your knees in a mucky overgrown field somewhere pulling parts out of the mud!

Where is the intake hole gonna be?

I'm turbine ignorant as well. Just how do turbo props get the massive intake required like turbo jets ? I'm thinking that it ain't the same requirement but I'm also thinking that the intake is important. On other planes I've noticed what I thought to be a functional intake "scoop".

Looking at this turbine I don't see where it would intake air at all scoop or no scoop. I assume that it gets it through the rear screened area inside the plane ?

That's exactly right, from the screen area in the back. The gas generator is bascally a jet engine installed reversed with its thrust pushing forward in the secondary impeller which in turn drives the reduction gear to the propeller.

In this case, the air will come from the bottom front from the cowling.

Oops nope- it's Ocoee, Florida. West of the big "O" town - near Mickey Louses' backyard.

Now I was told "Ocoee" was Seminole Indian for "Never Freezes" - which by the way in 16 years - has yet to. Frost on the roof twice in 16 years is as close as it has ever got. So maybe that tale is BS.

I'm < 10 miles from RCACF where the BVM guys have benn know to frequent - and (willingly) take over the field - sometimes.
I just enjoy watching guys fly the equivalent of a 2005 Toyota (in $$) fly around on 72Mhz. (yes some of their jets are on 2.4 Ghz.

Great question Zoomer and answer Roger. thanks I had no clue how clueless I was of this engine's dynamics.

Hi Roger, I installed one of those neat metal caps, I think from DuBro, much better than the plastic one. Build going great. Regards
