Uhh hey Roger. I'm sure the third photo is some super secret special of your own design covering but it may need a little iron work ?

See !? I can to be sarcastic ! Hah !

Sorry Roger I just commented on another thread how I need work in the sarcasm arena. I am a little curious though why the covering would appear to be trimmed but not stretched ?

Ah good observation, and I do have an explanation.

since the second color is to attach to the red and a third color attach to the second color, the red is attached to a stringer, where the second color will also. and so on. if I would shrink red at this point, it would pull too hard on the stringer, so I will wait until all colors are attached properly then shrink the whole thing slowly at that same time.. hmmmm does this make any sense???

Looks good to me Roger ! I've only covered a few planes. I hired others to do it in my bigger stuff back when I was in this crazyness the last time. Now-a-days I gotta do it all myself and since ARF's are so reasonably priced (here lately) I've been going with that.

BUT there still is the Laser in the basement. And if it EVER flies it will be a "free" plane now since it is so old so I may try my hand at lightening it and recovering. All I would have in it at this point would be covering, paint and my time. The plane engine and radio was purchased back when it was built about twelve years ago. And the current covering and paint which I've decided has to go.

Ya I know, he seems scared about the first flight, or is he simply hungry sitting there for such a long time??

Blue aluminum of course

Seriously, after making the cap, I clean it and spray paint it with an anodizing paint , hot rodders use. works great...
