Today, I woked on a killer safety Servo Battery/receriver battery buss, two failsafe switch, and Fiber optic servo extension encoders all built in the same unit...
Hope to work on the laser wing this week end, still waiting for my buddy which was in england ... Roger

My buddy was back from England so he helped me cut the top part of the wing, nothing else was done on it as this was done yesterday and now I have to cut the hole for the tube, plus all the stringers. then cover. Its coming, sometimes it takes longer just to get organized.
While waiting I have completely transformed the electronics in my Sukoi. with pictures you can see what I have done. You will notice with the use of Lipos, I have installed individual regulators at 5.98 volts true to power the servos since the signal is taken care of with the Fiber optics. I have tested these regulators with this airplane using one 7806 for the throttle and choke servos plus the ignition with absolutely flawless performance... So these are good to go and only cost about 50 cents each .... I am also making the fiberglass tube and making the props , Roger

I know its not going fast but steady...
Here I am using an aluminum landing as a short bow to cut the tube socket holes... Roger

We could take the LG from a 50% airplane and cut wings for smaller planes !!!!

while some of the glue sets on the wing panel, I made another wing tube socket but this time took some pictures as I went along...
Any questions, just ask... Roger

Before I made the tube socket, I made a little test stand to see how a 7806 regulator would stand up as I am using one of these for each servo in my airplane instead of going to the high priced single units.
The results so far using a Multiplex Jumbo digital servo with 300 in/oz of torque connected to a heavy weight of metal you see in the photo. has been running non stop for well over two hours so far with a servo excerciser set at high speed. After two hours, the 60 cent regulator is barelly warm to the touch and it is covered with a heat shrink wrap you see here in green.. In the second picture, I added the extra weight you see here and this is the weight its been with for two hours and I will leave it there for most of the day... Roger

The individual regs seem like a great idea. What is the current draw when excercising the servo? Also, nice prop. Are you designing them yourself?

When I shut it off, the regulator was still barely warm ...They can easily support 3 amps for short bursts, so one per servo is not going to be a problem... Also you are getting some redundancy having one per servo instead of one for the whole bunch... As for the prop, no I don't design props as some others have claimed. I designed and built a duplicator and use a variety of props to copy from , not for resale just for my own use. The one you see here is a copy of a Biela 26*10, costing me $5.00 of beach wood plus my time. I recently made a 36*12 like this for the 300cc engine, the cost was $10.00 of beach wood. Roger

Here I have installed the sheeting on the top before cutting the bottom part.
I am using white carpenter's glue, giving me plenty of time to layout the glue , put the sheeting on and then I put reseallable lunch bags filled with sand so they easily take the shape .. Roger
