Hi Roger, Thanks for the inquiry, Have been fairly ok, Flew in only two IMAC contests this year, gas cost, you know. Am planing to go to more next year, and am going to fly in unlimited, Why not, Lots of advantages, no sandbaggers still only 10 manuevers, just more compilcated, will have to get out and practice tho. Not doing IMAC to win anything anyway.
Cheers
Jack

Just a look trial fit on the fuse, not fitted yet of course, but time to celibrate.
Now I can tell you exactly how I made it but be sure, its not the only way, but the way I made it.

This project isn't driving you to drink (celebrate more?) now is it Roger?

One thing is for sure- your hobbyist tasks go where few guys on FG ever have or do go. Thanks for sharing your extra efforts. Laser's going to be great!

Alabama - you going to be doing the snowbird thing or will it be full time new resident status?

I like a nice glass of wine at the end of the day but not much of a drinker

Thanks for the kudo, in today's ARF's, not much building going on, just assembling , with bolt on's its unfortunate, but on the other hand, ARF's have permitted some to fly because of lack of time to build, and this is good.

I want to be in alabama full time that is the intention, have you seen there flying field, it is awesome, and I have developped some good friends there also.

Roger

Your project is coming along very nicely. Those turbine stacks are truly Bad @ss!:Gotta love the sound and those progressively faster prop revs... !:

I'm not familiar with too many other fields outside of Central Fl. No doubt that club will benefit from the skills and hobbyist mentality you will bring add to their association. Hope your plans work out for you!

Pencil in to make the FX3D fly in Jacksonville in February if you have moved by then if possible. Super group of guys this FFAA association brings together.
Fun time - done right!

No, I was going to use 3 layers but kept it at two and now I know two is enough .

if it was a large cowling with less point of connect only at the firewall, I would probably go with 3 layers.

I used the EZ surfacing epoxy, because it gives me time to apply it and it is very easy to sand

more plugging away at getting it finished, small details really add up.

The fuel filler cap, and a coat of paint on the cowling, this is not the finish, just paint to see where I can correct mistakes.

Hayes, I found the propane/butane can, and it fits the connector that came with the engine., Problem solved...

I'll post more pictures as I finish asssembling the airplane.
I have installed the tail feathers and started to rig and adjust the flying wires.

Also, I have installed the fuel tank, the header tank, the servos, the power board will all Fiber Optic servo control.

The engine compartment battery is installed and just now installing the receiver battery and servo battery.

Next is the engine plumbing, and then program the radio .

Hopefully will get the engine running next week but will bypass any steps to get it just right.

Do not despair, I was kept away from the shop for the last few days because of very low temperatures and a lot of snow, hopefully I will be back at it tomorow.

Stay tuned

Morning Roger,

Is that an "in-house" produced fuel filler or an off the shelf?
