Can't believe I have missed this thread until today. I have bought an old 33% Lanier Laser 200 a couple of months ago as my first big scale plane. I have been reading a lot of threads about the Laser to get ideas for rebuilding/repairing and adjusting my own Laser.

I was very pleased to see all those close-up shots and clear explanation of how the boost tabs work. Guess I will need those too

Great job, please keep posting pics and hopefully you can show us a flight video as well.

Thank you very much for the kind words,, it has been a fun project to say the least.

I am planning to have a video of the engine run hopefully by next week but will have to wait until spring for actual flights. Too much snow here and cold

When you need something that is not easy to find a lot of the time it is better to custom built just what you need and want ! At least if I design it myself and built it myself I know what I have ! If you know what I mean.

Well my friends, the building of the Laser is basically finished,

I would like to acknoledge those that were instrumental

Jack Strickland for the plans of the Laser. everyone that contributed in a small or big way, it is well appreciated.

I would like to offer also, if anyone would like pictures that I might have not posted or taken for you, let me know and I will do my best to accomodate.

I will also post some pictures with the airplane completely assemble outside of the shop but will wait a bit for the temperature to rise.

Is there another project in the works??? Stay tuned , I might
But be sure it will be another plans built and this time I think I will have to draw my plans since I haven't found any plans I can use but that's another story....

Roger

Today I assembled the laser in the shop, no main wheels , with fuel tank about half full which is about 30 ounces of fuel on board.

The weight I got was 19.3 lbs. less the fuel I get about 17.5 lbs.

Just to let everyone know, my next project for the Turbo prop is the T 34c Mentor.

I am going to draw up my own plans , a first for me

The size I am shooting for is 100" wingspan and it will be designed purpose built for the Wren Turbo prop engine for either the 54 or the 44. and not the other way around for a piston engine.

Please let me know if there is any interest out there for me to a build thread on this also.

Roger
