Here is a picture of the fueler. We need to discuss making the cap the same larger diameter as housing. The engraving was a bit of a struggle on such a small pallet (5/8"/ 16mm dia.) and doesn't really net the visual result I want. (dang hard to photograph too!)
Roger, e mail me when you get a moment to discuss the probabilities and possible new units and or replacement caps?

I haven't started the build thread on the T-34C Turbo prop yet because things will be slow at first to get organized.

So for the time being, I am working on the drawings but Mark Frankel is lending a hand since his is exactly the size I want to do. This way I will be able to get the cowling, canopy, corrugated control surfaces etc.

I will however do the retracts since I do want to have the experience in doing this.

For starters I have been working on the air cylinders, I know I can buy them but how can I learn if I buy them .....

So here is my first attempt with success I may add...

I have now made four for the main landing gear retracts, and I will post pictures on how I made them in case some have interest in making there own, not that hard.

Its a been a while since I posted, I haven't started the thread on the T 34 C Turbo Mentor yet, but soon.

I have been actively working on the plans and this is coming along just fine.

the wingspan is 100" or exactly 1/4 scale

In the meantime I have been preparing the laser for the first flight, and I should have a video of the then engine run up in a few days

I have been busy with the engine developing a spark ignition system for the turbine, this was in conjunction with Hayes Hutchins.

with this spark ignition, no more burned out glow plugs, and better and quicker starts..

It is now on the market for any of you interested, I have it on my web site.

Oh. I was wondering if you could explain the spark ignition? I thought the turbines used a glow plug with the filament pulled out??

That is a good question , and it is the standard practice to use glow plugs with the fillament pulled out, and in certain installation, they are very hard to reach , and very hard to put a new one in with the filament sticking out and not break it.

Also with glow plugs , the starting is not the most reliable in many application. With this in mind, my friend Hayes Hutchins of Alabama, suggested for us to look at the possibility of replacing the glow plug with a spark plug.
From this point on by using a small spark plug and ignition module with no auto advance built in to it, we had the sparker but we needed something to make it spark which is the little green unit with the flashing red led you see in the video, which I designed and it now works perfectly,
Some have shown concern about the ECU being damaged but no such worries the way we went about it.

So far over 35 perfect starts as you see in the video with no ill effect whatsoever.

So the bottom line , no more glow plug replacing, and the best reliable starts ever and much lower battery requirement then with the glow plug...

Cool stuff Roger.
This hobby is fortunate to have innovators like yourself involved with hands on product improvements and inventions. Keep up the good work- one day- you may find yourself heaped on with rewards for all your efforts.
IMO- Its guys like you keep this industry from going stale and or defunct.
