Default Can I move from 50cc to 150cc???

I have been flying big glow planes and one 50cc extra that lose it on a deadstick, and now I have the chance to buy one good airplane and I want really bad a extra 41% Wild hare. I know that the best its buying a 100cc or something like that size but I dont know if I will have another chance to buy a really giant an expensive airplane, what you guys think about this??

Your going to 150cc anyway...jump on it..I have sold all 50 and 100cc planes..I am only flying 40%ers...Once you do it..you will never want to fly the small ones again.

BIGGER IS BETTER! If you can fly it, do it. Don't look at the dollar sign in the sky, just pretend it's a very good small electric

Unless you have the funds to replace large planes at your whim or immediately after any crash you'll always be seeing dollar signs in the sky when you fly. Sometimes it seems that view promotes crashes.

Sure, you can buy and fly whatever you want but to me it makes more sense to fly what you can afford to replace if the worst occurs. If you can afford the loss when it happens the go for it. Can you currently easily transport a 40% plane?

I currently fly 35% planes. I know I will someday be in 40%. Once I make the crossover I will not want to fly a 35% again. How do I know this? Since going to 35% I have no interest whatsoever in 25% or even 30%. Bigger does fly better.

I stay in 35% because for me it is a good trade off on flight performance vrs. cost. A 40% seems to cost more than "5% more than a 35%". Its not just the engine but also the airframe itself and the number of servos needed ect.... Plus I would need to get a trailer for the beast and a place to park the trailer; which I don't have.

Someday......

I'd say if you can transport it and pay for it DO IT!!

Thanks guys Im almost decided to do it, because Im a pretty good 3D flyer, I have a big garage and a big truck. I was planning to buy a AW 260 35% because I have seen the amazing quality of AW, but now I want the 41% extra WH with 2 servos per wing, 1 per elevator and 2 on the rudder its like a 35% on electronics, but with a DA 170 on the nose

My friend has 3 of the 41% WH Extras 300's and they are awesome flying planes, they are running standard 3W 150's in two of them and he is waiting on a DA-170 for the latest one he just bought. If you can afford it do it, these planes land like a trainer, just be sure you have room to transport it. If I had a way to transport one I guess I would go on up to that size, but for now I'm going to go with the 100cc class untill I get a trailer and then I may change over myself. Bottom line is that the WH plane is awesome. So is the AW if you can afford it.

I know that you'll find the Wild Hare plane to fly much lighter than the Aeroworks. Nothing at all wrong with the Aeroworks but they do finish up a bit heavier than W/H planes. The quality of the product and service from Wild Hare are very hard to beat as well. Better still they cost you less

I agree with tired old man. Large scale plane fly great but they are expensive. So I ask you ( Whats in your wallet? )

Tired Old Man is SPOT ON (twice tonight!)... This is a hobby, and you can't be spending all of your disposable income on a single plane... your worst fears are certain to come true some day.

who says it's disposable?
but I agree if your pocket book can handle at least two 40% planes in lets say 6 months then go for it, I have over 8300 in my aviator but you can get one a little cheaper by going with a wood kit, I paid 2750 just for the kit

I bought a very slightly used 46% Ultimate this weekend, and today laid on the credit card for a new 3W 170, a dozen 7955's, power box, etc.. Since the plane already has a lot of the "gotchas" (tail wheel, switches, linkage, etc.. on it, I think I just might get this beast finished up for around $5K. That's less expensive than my 100cc composite plane!
