LOL just kidding' I mite have to get one !Love the shape of it and smooth lines. One of the best ARFs I have seen!
Just pulled the trigger on one of these! What are you guys thinking as far as power? I'd think a DA-150 would be great but since it seems like the 170 is just around the corner - hmmm!

I guess i have been living under a rock for a while but I had never even heard of a slick 540. I have been trying to decide what 40%er i want to put together over the winter and was looking at Dietrich's 42% extra 260. I sent them an e-mail about it and Bill turned me on to the slick and I must say, it is probably one of the best looking planes I have ever seen. After talking with Bill from Dietrich about it I decided to order one.It is based on the full scale version and it is not really a bad price at $1595.00 for all pre-orders but after they arrive its going up to $2195.00. Thats $600.00 off just to order now. Check it out http://www.dietrichaircraft.com/42Sl...42Slick540.php

Do like I'm doing. Every pay check, put $100 in the Slick fund. I didn't think I could swing it but losing $200 a month just makes me more consevative with gas, food, and cigarettes, and cutting back on all of those is never a bad thing. Now I'll have a new Slick to reward myself. It makes me want to quit smoking, stop eating like a horse and stay at home more often to afford a new radio and motor to go with it. Cut some spending and rat hole a couple hundred bucks a month and buy one. $200 will reserve you one at the pre order price. Kevin said he's not charging the entire amount until it ships to you.

Hey Sleepy, what the wife does not know wont hurt her i was going to build something over the winter but I dont like to build and besides most winters around here I flew thru most of because they always seem to be mild. What motor for this beast? 150? or 170?

Is this thing set up for use with pipes? I see the proto had stock muffs.

DA-170 eh.... on your first 40%? Might want to go with something a little more, reliable at the moment.

Gee, that is funny, because I know of one for a fact that has burned 20+ gallons in the last month or so without issues. And I'm sure there are a few getting ready to compete at TAS this week.

Im pretty sure this thread is about a plane and not how reliable a certain engine is, can we stick to the topic please. I am going to pre order one as well I just want to know if it is set up for pipes or cans because the prototype I saw had stock mufflers on it.

That is one sick looking plane. It's about time someone puts a nice looking ARF out.

Will be running the same setup here. Can't wait to get my hands on the plane!

Been thinking about servos, too.. Right now I'm leaning toward 7955s - you guys have any experience with those?
