Default How does one put videos on a DVD?

OK, technically challenged Super Dave here...

I have a TV/DVD setup in my exercise room and like to watch airplane vids while on the treadmill. I have about worn out my current selections. Is there a way to download videos off Giants or You Tube and put them on a DVD? I wouldn't be selling any of it or anything shady like that, just putting some huck vids on a DVD to watch while I run on the treadmill.

Well you start by getting this program called VideoStudio6. They're probably up to 8 or 10 by now but they will let you create the files to make a DVD from any source. You can even edit and add titles voice over etc.

Ok first I'm guessing the computer you're using has a DVD-RW/CD-RW burner. If it doesn't have DVD-R, then you can't make a DVD, but you can still make a Video Disc. If it does, your computer should have burning software downloaded onto it. It is most likely Nero or Roxio. If you open up this program, you should see something for creating either movies or DVDs. If your computer doesn't have burning software, you can get some free basic ones that still do all you want on download.com. Just do a search for it.

Now if it's a vid here on the FG Video Gallery it is most likely on Windows Media. If you look at a video on here, there is a link on the bottom that says "This a video, click on thumbnail to download." Right click this link and "Save target as". Choose a directory to save your vid to. Desktop is best because you can see it on the desktop when it's downloaded. Wait for it to download and you will see the file on the desktop.

Open up your program and choose the create DVD option or something on the lines of that. You will choose the file on your desktop and usually you can do a few movies until it shows you that you can't do it anymore because of space constraints (usually 700 mb) on a DVD. Just follow the steps and your program will create the DVD for you. Pop it in the DVD player and you'll see the menu with your vids. Your program might let you customize how the menu would look like..., it doesn't matter.
Your DVD player will most likely also be able to play Video Discs which are not DVDs and can be burned on normal CDs(CD-Rs or CD-RWs). Just use the video disc option.

If you want vids from youtube or a video website, there are tons of programs out there to do that, but Real Player and Vixy.net are the easiest. If you have the latest Real Player, everytime you play a You Tube vid or some other site, you will see a little box asking you if you want to download the video. Vixy.net allows you to to copy and paste the video link and download the video to a directory on your computer. Just download to your desktop and use your burn software to make the DVD or Video Disc.

Hope this helps! I tried to make it as somple as possible.
