Serious accident,. Dan Powell, Brady Jacobsen

There has been a
serious accident. Dan Powell, his two daughters Bailey and Ciara, and
Brady Jacobson, were leave Whitesboro on US Hwy 82 last night around
9:PM. They came up on some horses that were running loose on the
highway. By the time they saw them it was too late. Unable to stop,
they hit at least one horse. The top of the car was ripped off from
the impact.

Ciara was sitting behind Dan in the car and was uninjured in the
accident.

Bailey was sitting in the back seat behind Brady and suffered some
serious cuts mainly to her face. One of her eyes was also seriously
injured. Her injuries were caused when front passenger seat Brady was
in broke loose from the impact and pushed toward the back seat where
she was sitting.

Dan was hit by the windshield as it was torn from the car. According
to Dan, his injuries are mainly cosmetic. The windshield took about
half his hair from his head.

Brady's injuries are the most serious. According to Dan, when the
horse came through the windshield it hit Brady directly in the face.
He has multiple broken facial bones with bleeding and swelling of his
brain. He also sustained multiple breaks to one of his arms. He was
flown by Care Flight to a Dallas hospital for treatment. At the time
of this posting he has undergone one surgery to repair some of the
injuries to his arm and is scheduled for another surgery on Monday to
repair more of the damage to his arm.

At this time I do not have any further information on Brady's
condition. I do not know what hospital he is in, just that he was
sent to a Dallas hospital.

Dan has asked that we all offer prayers for his daughter Bailey, and
the Jacobson Family. (Please keep Dan in your prayers as well)

Update on Brady 9:50 am July 12, 2008


Brady is currently at
Dallas Methodist Hospital in Oak Cliff. His condition is currently
critical. He has a team of about 7 doctors taking care of his
injuries which are not fully diagnosed at this time.

What we do know is that his face was crushed by the impact with the
horse, he also has a broken neck, crushed chest, and a badly broken
arm. As far as a prognosis goes, there isn't being much said by the
doctors. There is concern that he may never regain normal use of his
arm but that is yet to be determined. He will have a second surgery
to his arm early next week if his other injuries permit.

The bleeding of his brain is of major concern at this time. He is not
breathing on his own at this time. The doctors have said that he is
responding by moving his toes when touched and groaning when he is
moved, both of which they say is a good sign. Other than that, the
doctors are not providing any additional prognosis to his family.

Sabrina has asked that we all wait until his condition becomes stable
before going to the hospital to visit Brady. Sabrina also asked that
we all pray for Brady.

Sabrina repeatedly told me that this accident was NOT Dan's fault.
Dan was knocked unconscious in the accident then regained
consciousness just before the paramedics arrived. He first went to
the aid of his injured daughter. The paramedics arrived seconds later
and took his daughter from him. Dan then turned his attention to
Brady who was choking on blood. Dan moved Brady enough to clear his
throat which according to Sabrina saved his life. She repeated that
this was not Dan's fault and that everyone needs to understand that.
I will provide more information as it becomes available.

Update..

I have been just copying and pasting the story from our Vice President from our Yahoo group about this acident. Frankly my hands, nerves, and fingers just slowed down from trembling so much. I was gone all morning and didnt here about this untill about 2:00. I finnally got to talke to Dan and he just got his daughter Bailey from the eye surgeon and he told them she will be Ok. Dan also said that heard that Bradys brain is under control. I will surely keep yal up to date when I hear more...

bradys condition is the same i will be going to visit him a little later. the biggest concern wih bailey(7yo) was her eye his has been evaluaed and the glass in her corenia did not penitrate the lense she is expected to have full recovery in her eye, we will know for sure tuesday when i gets reevaluated, here is a extreme amont of swelling and she is still really out of it from he anistisia she will be seing plastic segions monday for he other cuts on her face. I have lost one child and can not stand to loose another, i cry everyime i see her but where she can't see, she is a brave little girl. Prayers please.

Brady is a grat friend. he is 19 one heck of a 3D pilot and with him having 4 sisers We are like brohers. he has never drank smokd or even cursed he has a heart of gold. He was just accepted onto the godspeed flight demonstration team and was to fly his first show next tuesday. I was doing last minue things to prep my godfrey for its maiden, brady was making me graphics. He called and waned to come by and help me prep the trailer and plane as well as help with he honeydoos(yard etc) he was going to spend the night and stay up with me as long as it took. I picked him up. We stopped at a lighted truck stop and flew foamys together on the way home then was driving home from there when he accidnt happened. please please please send prayers for my friend
