It's hard to believe, but the 2008 Liberty Bell Jet Rally will be upon us in just a little over 2 weeks. This past weekend I was at Capitol Jets and learned that a number of pilots received damaged pre-registration forms or didn't receive them at all. We've decided to eliminate the pre-registration deadline and make all registrations, including those at the field, $45. Please disregard the posting on our website that mentions 22 July 2008 as the deadline for pre-registration. If you did not receive a registration form, please contact me or download one from our website www.libertybelljetrally.com on the Pilots page.
I had a couple of requests for cooler weather than last year. Those requests will be forwarded to weather potentate Uncle Joe Balabon. Pre-registrations are still very helpful for us so we can get a head count for the Friday night dinner. This year we're switching from chicken BBQ to a steak dinner. John from Sirro's tells me that he's going to put together a great steak dinner for us and will make the steaks to order, exactly how you'd like yours grilled. This year we're having the Saturday evening awards banquet at Hennigen's Restaurant. They have a great buffet for $22. They also have a full service bar so adult beverages are available. Payment is direct to Hennigen's on Saturday evening but we will need a head count by Thursday 31 July. There are still some tent segments available. Price for a 15x30 segment is $290, for those needing more space, 2 segments, 30x30, is $550. Please contact me at cd@libertybelljetrally.com to reserve tent space, tables (8ft. @ $7), and chairs ($1). If you have a camper, please let me know if you'd like to stay on site so we can have a spot for you. We already have some campers scheduled but we've still got some space open. Camper space is for registered pilots only. I think that's most of everything that Cindy wanted me to pass along. So, we'll be looking for everyone in a couple of weeks. Hey...I forgot to mention that in addition to the Malchione brothers representing BVM, Kerry Sterner from US SimJet, Eric Clapp from Jet Central, Wagner from RC Jet Models, Rob Hobbins with Jet Hangar International, Lee Reightler with AMT USA; Bob Wilcox from JetCat USA and Tam from TamJets are making the trip from the other side of the world to attend the Liberty Bell Jet Rally. This will be a great time to hook up with the folks that you may not get to talk to very often. |
