Low and slow- How I roll
![]() |
Since I'm unable to put a poll into the other thread, I had to make another one. RCG has gotten a lot of attention around a smilar thread.
So, do you like DW Foamies aircraft? If you don't, do tell us why you dislike them. I personally like to hear the reasons why, but I'm sure others can say the same. Also, this can be a thread for any questions you may have, or any comments on the planes.

I love my yak. I basically learned 3d on this plane, going from barely hovering to doing rollers on the deck. It also stood up to a tremendous amount of abuse. I will continue ordering all my foamies from mike at DW, they are great!

My favorite foamie is the DW YAK, great quality plane, and great service from Mike.

DW Yak - great plane and breeze to build. When I wear out my current DW Yak - I'll buy another from Mike to replace it!

Our whole club is basically converting to DW after the first one showed up around here. I'd had a Yak sitting here for some time but hadn't put it together as it was winter and the spirit had not moved me....
![]() But another member got a Yak and started flying it, that was all it took. I put mine together and loved the thing but had some issues with my assembly technique and worn out servos. So I called and ordered another Yak. Mike suggested I might try the Juka, so I got one of those as well. I prefer the Yak as it handles wind better than the Juka as Mike had said would be the case, but all the other GS guys I've let fly the Juka really liked it the best. I tell people the Juka is "more foamiesque" if you will in how it fly's compared to the Yak. Our club now has; Yaks, Jukas, Edges and Extras all the the 38" size and everybody loves 'em....

No Gen-X's? Hehe.
"We" call the Juka a 3D monster, simply because it does 3D with the best of them. Set it up right, and it will do anything you can possibly imagine. I'm the only one at my club sofar that has DW planes, however with the big eyes, and lots of interest around my BAF Yak 54, I think I'll be seeing more of them as time goes on.

I have the Yak and put it together over the weekend. I'd take it out, but Dolly is causing problems right now lol. I'm sure I'm going to love it though.

If you referring to me, Hurricane Dolly has made land fall and we're getting some of the winds from it. Nothing has been over 25 mph, but that's too windy for a foamy. Nothing anyone can really do lol. Oh well, it'll pass and I'll fly it this weekend, no biggie.
