Don, So then why dont we have a formal decision about it. All most would like to have is a decision on what is going to happen at regionals ( At least for me) so that we can make plans.

Is this contest about getting a piece of wood for your traveling throughout the year - or your flying ability for that weekend?
I will agree with you on that, but it is just for us in the SE to decide what type of competition we want to do. I just always thought the point of having a Regional Contest Championship was for us to have the top 10 pilots to come. I am guessing I am just looking at this from a athlete perspective since I play soccer and coach soccer. (you gotta play a season before you head to state playoffs) Everyone makes good points it is just what do we want in this Southeast region. I would just say make this a open contest and after Friday and Saturday flying knock out to the top 5 or 10 to fly on Sunday.

Or is there is way there could be weighted points on people who come in the top three in contest through out the year???

P.S. yes, we are here just to have fun, I think thats why we are having all the comments and discusions about the regionals.

the only issue I see with the basic pilots is that there are no points applied to their class... right? So the regional champ for Basic is decided on the SE Regional contest?

Don... what is the word on the street to make all regions the same? What direction are we heading with IMAC and the way the regionals are held?

Matt, This year there is a points race in basic just like all the other classes.

Don,
So are you saying that Basic will be the first ten to respond and agree to move up to Sportsman next year?

Airplane for IMAC $5000 (cheap ARF)
RV to make trips to contests $16,500 (used)
Gas for plane, RV, and generator per trip $500 (average)
Seeing Tony G throw another fit at the Regionals PRICELESS

I liked the way it was last year top 4 contests, top ten at regionals, and drop that bonus point crap. Keep it simple. Yes I would allow 2 out of area contests.

To all,

The bonus points system has always been in place and i do not understand what the big deal is. Lets go back and not show it in the running total but still use it to decide in the case of a tie.

Not correct Josh there have always been the tie breaker points. Just did not come into play but it was always still there.

Let me add to what i just said. Last year in unlimited the points championship was decided by the tie breaker points. So how is it that it has not been used in two years ?
